RE: Wharfedale 750s - What discs have problems? Gladiator disk 2?

So far I have discovered two discs that appear incompatible-

Shaolin Wheel Of Life (R2) - Cannot access special features.
2000 A.D. (R0) - One of the special features is corrupted with coloured blocks.

Both discs work fine on other machines.

By the way - I was very disappointed to see that the layer change is noticeable! I was watching `Wild Wild West` (I borrowed it - honestly!) and it paused for about 1 second for the change. I hope all discs don`t suffer from this.

I have now had my 750s for 3 weeks and I`m happyish, but not Shiny happy with it. I`m keeping that reciept safe that`s for sure. I`ll be taking the offending discs around to my sister who also has a 750s to see if it happens on hers too.

Wharfdale 750s - two discs not working.

I bought `Shaolin : Wheel Of Life` on DVD today. My Wharfdale plays the main feature fine but not any of the extra stuff. The screen just reverts to the blue DVD splash screen you see when turned on.

Anyone else experienced this?

To add insult to injury I also imported `2000 A.D.` from Hong Kong which arrived today and that also has all sorts of problems (picture blocks, jumping etc...).

Both discs work fine on my Creative PC DVD set up though. I have only had the machine for a week and I am beginning to think it`s just
another Scan SC2000 fiasco. Please god, not that again....

RE: Wharfedale 750s is going back! Mico next?

Damn!!! This was to be my next player to try...

I had the same drop in framerate with the dreaded Scan (2nd one going back tomorrow!!) and my TV does do PAL 60!!!!

I despair! What is the best stand alone DVD player out there??? Does one actually exist??? I seriously doubt it does.

Oh, well - back to my trusty Creative PC DVD. Never had a problem with this little fella at all!

RE: My Scan SC-2000 Problems

Good luck with a reply mate - I`ve phoned for nelley 3 times this week (every time busy) and emailed him twice and he still hasn`t contacted me!!

I am on my 2nd Scan player with the same faults as the previous one (faulty RGB, blocky picture, corrupt menu screens).

I spoke to some guy at Scan who ASSURED me that the new players were out early and that my replacement would be one of them. He refused to pass my call onto nelley saying that he knew he was correct - yeah right...

As you say I have MANY PC components from Scan without problems but this kind of customer services is extremely disappointing...
