i`ve got the 5 disc version of fellowship of the rings on pre order and have no intention of buying any other version first and i`ll take the same approach with Brotherhood of the wolf and wait for the multi disc canadian r1 to come out (everything subtitled apparently).

Those that haven`t seen this film can`t blame themselves cause it was only on in a few cinemas, but it is quite a good film. Not masterpiece, but I`ll take this French stuff over that Crouching Tiger pish anyday (I still think its ok).

May be worth checking all the versions.

The UK R2 is from Universal and looking at the BBFC they have listed enough for a 2 disk as they have deleted scenes, interviews and a 80 min documentary. All subtitled with film having choice of subtitled or dubbed.

In North America it is more confusing as Universal in US are releasing a one disk without the 80 min documentary whereas in Canada it is a different company who are releasing a version of the French 3 disk LE. This also has an additional 90 min making of, all is supposed to be subtitled but waiting final confirmation.

I bought the french dvd version while I was in France, loads of extra features but you can`t watch it in English nor does it have english subtitles.
my French is good though so it doesn``t bother me especially with the great extra features. If you speak french this version is highly recommended + it came out over 4 months ago in France so you could grab it quite cheap at amazon.fr or even. http://www.fnac.com.
