What SatNav software work with this device? And Recommendations GPS receivers?
I have been looking all over the internet to see if the TOM TOM software works with this product ... Does anyone know? Looking for cheap software otherwise not worth buying!!
Anyone have the device and what do they think of it?
Thanks in advance,
Chirs

RE: Nokia 770 Internet Tablet £69.99
It seems a completely useless gadget, the operating system is obscure, it has no phone capability and the maximum expansion capacity is a 1 GB memory card. It's a pig in a poke, prices are on there arse because it garbage. Spend your money elsewhere, if you want a cheap gadget with built in Sirf 3 GPS try this: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=115145&TabID=1&source=1&doy=17m7
You can use the Nokia as a GPS device with Navicore 2007 software but also requires an external GPS unit, hope this helps!!!!!

RE: Nokia 770 Internet Tablet £69.99
If you want a handheld wifi Internet browsing device, consider this. If you own a Nintendo DS, you can buy a cartridge for it to browse the internet using Opera software for no more than £30 (shop around to save money on that price)
However, I bought this the moment is was released and found it so cumbersome and slow that I just resold it on Amazon. It was a nightmare to use and made everything so much more complicated to do.
I suspect that this little Nokia device would be similar using Linux, although I may be wrong. At the end of the day though, there is nothing so good at browsing the web as a proper computer.

Any idea on the name of the cartridge Sue?
I need something with internet browsing capability in the car if I can get it cheap so if an add-on to my DS works, that`s the way to go!
Oh, and any idea if it works with any network? Like if I was near an openzone hotspot etc?

Ok I retract my original statement the operating system is obscure, it says on various websites "Internet Tablet OS 2006 edition", I didn't realise this was Linux.
But overall I still think it's a piece of s hit.
I wasnt disparaging Linux at all, quite the reverse actually.
I just have trouble in actually doing anything with it in terms of additional application installations on a PC. Hopefully the next Ubuntu release will simplify things further still.
