Was mentioned on radio1 news on my way home earlier.
It was meant for friends and family but someone posted it online. They are still honoring them all. Pity its not on beer too

On Radio 5 they said that Thresher is offering a 3 for 2 deal anyway and may have eased up prices to compensate.

There was some talk of viral marketing, so be careful out there, hic.... ;)

I thought exactly the same thing when I saw it on the local news on TV last night.

This voucher can`t be used with the 3 for 2 offer that seems to run permanently, which equates to a 33.3% discount.

Bascially if you buy £100 worth of wine then you`ll pay £60, but without the voucher it would have only cost you £66.66 anyway.

I`m sure the marketing scummer that came up with this one will be having a very happy christmas.

Wooooooooo.... :/ And? Are they not bound to the same Data Protection laws as other legitimate companies you give that information to? And of course, you do need to give your real one in...
40% off single bottles is a far better offer than forcing 3 for 2 offers where you need to `bulk buy` to benefit. :/ Want one bottle of £30 champagne? £18 in this offer. Otherwise, it`s still £30 or buying more than you want/need.

No need for sarcasm, all I was pointing out is that the 40% discount is not a lot more than the permanent in-store promotion and certainly not worthy of the press coverage it`s attracting. The fact that they get a list of customers emails is just icing on the cake of what seems a brilliant piece of marketing.

There`s no box to tick on the voucher to indicate you want to opt out of any future marketing and if you think the DPA is going to prevent them from spamming then why have they bothered asking for email addresses? Do you really think they`re going to end up with a database of thousands of customers email addresses that their not going to do anything with?

The problem with Thresher et al is that they`ve slowly been pushing up their prices to balance out for their 3 for 2 promo which has basically meant anyone buying a single bottle ends up paying over the odds. This voucher really only helps if you want 1 or 2 bottles.

Actually,. I don`t think they`d spam everyone.
Plus, there is no requirement to fill in that box......
