Excellent spot. I`ve been after another DAD readio for a while now and these have had some pretty good reviews inthe past.

Cheers Pete.

Argh, I knew I should have ordered one last night rather than think about it overnight - Out Of Stock now :(

I`ve got two of these blighters (one for the office, one for home). Worth keeping an eye out for the next price reduction.

They are quite good, except...

The first one I bought makes a `raspberry` sound out of the speaker when it is turned up loud (I think one of the power supply caps might have a dry joint, and jumps out of circuit when the vibrations from the speaker jiggle it). The second one only has one of the audio channels working - there is a loose connection from the main board to the volume control, which I can get working when I`ve got the set opened up, but which gets loose again by the time I`ve put the back on (of course).

So I might have had two sets from an early batch when the quality control wasn`t as good as it is now. If course, me dropping the sets a few times probably didn`t help...

BTW If anyone`s techy enough, it looks as if there are traces on the circuit board for an S/PDIF digital out option. The Line Out should be good enough for most people, though!

Cheers.

i guess so... i find it infuriating paying any postage in this day and age when so many businesses ship free...

SVP annoyed me with their shipping, especially when i found out they are less than a mile from me!
