My experience with them over 12 years is that they are the best bank, very happy with service.

Must also add my 2p worth.

I have been with FD for 2.5 years and have found them to be the best bank I have ever had. You get no crap from them, they answer the phones on time and have a very good mortgage rate.

First Class.

Worst Direct appear to have changed then.

I had problems with Worst Direct about....10 years ago. Direct Debits not being paid (there was funds, but bank said not clamed, where as payee told refused), 3 months for some debit card transactions to show. 6 weeks for cash to deposit (from midland branch) ect. (had to send copy of deposit slip).

I have had 4 banks over the years
TSB, untill they closed my local branch
Worst Direct - see above
Lloyds TSB, customer service issues after account manager left.
Smile, 110% in my mind.

There was an atricle on banks via motly fool a few months ago - might be worth a google...... www.fool.co.uk/banking/banking.htm
