I`d buy from Aria rather than Micro-Direct any day. In fact I buy from anywhere rather than Micro-Direct any day. Their customer service is poor to say the least. The kind of company that really needs to re-think the way they treat their customers. A record 36 minutes waiting for someone to answer the phone and at that point I gave up. When you do get to speak to someone, you always get a different answer, they must have a list infront of them and chose one at random. Maybe there are people who are happy with them, but they obviously haven`t had any dealings with them over faulty products. If you buy something from them and it goes faulty, you may as well throw it away and buy something else from another company. Simply Computers, now Misco, are my current favourite. I bought a router from them which had a fault after a week and they are collecting it, not expecting me to send it back.

I have previously found Micro Direct perfectly OK.

Ordered about seven/eight times from them, had one problem with a damaged DVD Writer and they sorted it next day swap out.

Guess it just depends who you get, same anywhere really. I have had bad experiences with Dabs, but others have found them OK.

I always keep going back to Jigsaw (www.jigsaw24.com) as they are superb.

Cheap import Sony PSP & Nintendo DS games & consoles here !

I wouldn`t touch Aria with a barge pole - The customer service is shocking. Sent a MP3 player back in september that didn`t work and they are refusing to replace it or repair it.

Also they sent my confidential email address out to about 50 other customers by not blind carbon copying it, got in touch with some of the other customers in the list who are having the same problem of not replacing faulty items. They may be cheap but they aftersales service is not up to scratch.

I think that if you chase the deepest discount then you always face the risk of `variable` customer service. My own experiences with Aria mean that I would rate them very highly. This includes resolving problems with products which developed faults after 6-9 months. My bete noire would probably be Scan, I have always had great problems contacting them by `phone.

I have always found Aria generic products to be of good quality, and they do seem to have some bargain RAM at the moment.

Watch out for Microdirect, they have poor customer service. Shopped with them for quite a while: one order was shipped in part and when some items did not arrive, they confirmed twice that the items had not been sent, then after a month of waiting declared that they had indeed been sent. Ended up going through Trading Standards, but in the end, gave up, just too mutch hassle. They could not even provide proof of delivery.
Secondly the registration details on their site where not secure, they mailed out other customers details by "mistake" - incompentance is more likely.
I have had very favourable experiences with Aria. The only small gripe is their shipping costs are too high, other than that I have dealt with their customer service and have not been let down...yet.
