My best bargain this year so far...

The Mrs bought me 9 cans Carlsberg Export 1847 Premium Lager from the co-op today.

£1.50 works out @ 0.17 a can. That makes up for not getting the Somerfield bargain last week.

Pity it wasn`t in all co-ops and we could all have had some.

My best was in HMV about a month back. Got Eddie Murphy "Raw", Chris Rock "Bigger and Blacker" and the Coen Brothers collectors edition of Miller`s Crossing for £20

Only i`m a student so i got 10% off. And i already had Raw, so i sold it on ebay for £9, meaning i got the remaining two dvd`s for £4.50 each.

My worst bargain of course was buying Eddie Murphy "Raw" for about £12 about 2 weeks before i saw this offer!! You win some, you lose some.

Purchased a Nokia 3100 from Tesco. Phone was £55 but got 1000 clubcard points. This would normally give £10 discount but I always exchange mine for theme park tickets because you get 4 x the value.

That brought the cost of the phone done to £15 but they had also mislabbeled the phone with the following weeks offer so I got £10 of call charges thrown in.

Overall cost of phone = £5

OK this wasn`t this year, but it`s a good story. This was at a CompUSA store in Indiana. Encarta dvd $24.99. With a $20 rebate voucher. Minus another $5 for buying it with a mastercard. Net cost $ -0.01.

And yes, I DID get the rebate in the mail...

Firefly boxset for £17.50 for me.

Sony PS2 remotes for £2.99 for my son & daughter.

BOGOF vouchers for Pizza Hut in last Fridays papers - Didn`t post that at the time as found it on the 19.03 out of Paddington station, kept some noisy little mouths occupied Saturday night for a while. ;)

I quite like the Helpdesk people in a benevolent (as opposed to malevolent) way as they do some valuable work in preventing us being inundated by every halfwit who can work a phone.
