RE: Epson R200 Printer £49.99 @ Dixons
Ok its a long time since I bought a printer - and then it was 4X this price but seems to be giving up ghost (EPSOM 740). Is this a good model to get - Pro`s con`s - it just seems too cheap to me but I am not with it at all on printers. Is this the dogs doo dahs or what can more expensive models do better???
RE: Epson R200 Printer £49.99 @ Dixons
The R200 is a superb photo printer (5760 dpi) and will print borderless A4 and also directly onto CD/DVD. I bought one last time Dixons had an offer, and paid £70.
I had the Sty;us 760 before this one, and am pleased I upgraded. Borderless printing, and direct DVD printing swung it for me.
It uses 6 ink tanks. This where Epson claw back the money. A full set will set you back £60 on the high street. You can buy clones for between £9 and £20 online though. These work just fine though.
I can only compare this to the Canon 865 which my friend owns. The Canon is quieter and a little quicker.

i got one of these printers for chrimbo. Its really good printing on photos and and I have done a couple of dvd`s. The only problem I have is that the first few prints onto a4 (about 10 sheets each time) i get blue streaking around the text / image that i am printing. Anyone ever had this

So does that mean it gets through more ink or just it needs refilling less regularly??

the ink seems to last just fine tbh, much longer than my old c42 & at least as long as my old hewlet packard :) i pay £7.99 for a full set from here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=69932&item=6730907923&rd=1 i don`t pay postage as i only live around the corner from him :) i can deffinatly recomend the IMjet inks (this is the brand he sells) as i`ve gone through a few sets, & a friend of mine that uses Huge quantities (sp) has never had any problems with em :)

You`re lucky you don`t have to pay postage, seems almost as much as the cartridges themselves.
Buy the way, I`m thinking of buying the Nikon D70, would this printer (or the R300) compliment this camera and be up to it`s standard?
RE: Epson R200 Printer £49.99 @ Dixons
Tried to get one yesterday, travelled a fair few miles to be told there was none left.
Tried on the Dixons, Currys and PC World Websites yesterday, all out of stock.
Anyway tried this morning and Currys site had it back to £84.99, looked on Dixons and there it was, so I`m not that bothered about my travelling in vain yesterday.
:) :) :)
