RE: Help! My PS2 has stopped reading games!

All is not lost. The exact same thing happended to me and I found a great guide to fix. All that needed doing was the laser needed a bit of a clean with some rubbing alcohol. Take a look here http://www.geocities.com/djyayo/faq2.html for a guide on how to do it. I did download a really good guide at the time so I will go and search the hard disks to see if I still have it.

Ha found the exact guide. Print it off and work your way through it and you will be pleasently surprised http://mattread.com/blog/2004/01/ps2-disc-read-error-fix

RE: dvd games - any good?

The bullseye game is good, but only if you play them on a PC. Its virtually impossible to play on a stand alone dvd player as there is an awful delay. Just got the great british pub quiz so will be trying that tonight

i`m not too familiar with these so i`ve a question if you can help me, is there different software versions
yes sir indeed. Had a quick look and someone has commented on the web site that its got version 2.1 of the firmware. Well if you are looking to run homebrew stuff then you can forget it for the moment. Only version that lets you run homebrew is 1.5. If you get a 2 or 1.51 then you downgrade.

Take a look at ebay this store has got plenty of 1.5 and no customs charges http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8235257398&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

RE: PS2 Chipped

Crikey just took a look at www.psx-entertainment.co.uk never new there were so many types of chips for the ps2. Whatever happened to just needing a Mesiah. Anyone know why all the different ones are needed, and whats the difference

As far as I know thats it. Set the sky+ box to copy mode and off you go.

RE: Turning off pesky interactive dots on Sky

According to the digital spy sky forum the next version of the digibox software will allow you to set it to go off after a set time. Cant find the link on the site but I do remember seeing it mentioned

LMFAO, yeah sure let`s all sit around drinking tea and scones reminiscing about the glory days of our great empire what what.

We can`t have anything associated with sex disrupting our fine airwaves.

Oh look it`s 9 o`clock, pass my bedtime. Lights out Tally-ho!

LOL my post did seem a bit prudish didnt it. didnt really word it right. I was watching men and motors late on last night and an addy came on for an adult toys shop. Thought that would have been a nice advert to follow the ky jelly one

RE: free sample K Y gentle warming liqiud

I couldnt believe they actually advertise this last night on channel 4. I dread to think what will be next on our tele`s

How much does that leccy cost

Taken from another site but very useful. http://www.costlogistics.co.uk/electricity-cost-calculator.asp Just found out the cost of leaving the pc on 24/7 not bad at all

RE: Epson R200 Printer £49.99 @ Dixons

i got one of these printers for chrimbo. Its really good printing on photos and and I have done a couple of dvd`s. The only problem I have is that the first few prints onto a4 (about 10 sheets each time) i get blue streaking around the text / image that i am printing. Anyone ever had this

RE: my x-box has gone green

i get that with my ps2. I usually find the scart cable needs unplugging from the ps2 and then back in again to sort it out. Also i find if i use the scart splitter its a bit more fussy

RE: DVD Cover printing

Cheers peeps. coverxp looks brill. Will give that a go. Never thought about Nero`s builtin might try that

DVD Cover printing

Can anyone recommend any software to drag and drop dvd covers into and then let you print out at the right dimensions. Currently I am pasting the image into word and then messing about with the image size and stuff and still cant get it right.

Cheers

Need A new DVD player

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a DVD player that will also play Divx movies too. I have seen this one Yamada 6600 DIVX DVD Player £55.58 INC VAT at ccl that seems to fit the bill but a quick search on google didnt provide particulary good reviews.

Thanks in advance

Dual Layer Pioneer 70 quid

SVP have got the the 108 dual layer for 70 quid http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/acatalog/Hardware_Section__.html

RE: HDLOADER +ps2

Yep, got mine working fine now. Dont really know what was wrong at first but I have now got 14 games on the disk and they all play fine. Well worth the money.

RE: HDLOADER +ps2

Oops forget all about this post. Well to be honest I am having nothing but trouble. It took me ages to get the hard disk to be recognised by the software, then after looking at other forums found that you have to eject the software disk at a certain point to avoid the software freezing. Then once I got the disk in and intstalled a couple of games it wont play any of them. There seems to be a bit of a trend with this software. It either works fine first time and your laughing or you get nothing but problems. I am going to borrow someone elses hdloader software from work and see if its my version of the software and then decided wether or not to send mine back. There are plenty of other postings on the software here http://www.cdrom-guide.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=15

RE: The Muppet Show - 4 x dvd Box set £6.99 HMV

cant seem to add at the price it stops at 34.99 ah well another bargain missed

HDLOADER +ps2

Has anyone tried this yet http://www.hdloader.com/site.php?page=home ? Just ordered my network card from Play 17.99 already got a 120gb disk waiting. Im fed up with my kids scratching my few precious games so this is the ideal solution. Hopefully the ps2 card will be here tomorrow sp will post back with my findings

RE: Prince Of Persia PS2 £9.99

Its well good and well worth a tenner. My two lads have just finished it after playing for about 5 weeks (not all the time I might add). I`m only at 41% and still going.

RE: Bittorrent and XP

Hi, Sorted it myself.

Update your network card drivers.
If that doesn`t work, go to Prefs, Advanced, and reduce "Max peer connections" to 60 or below. I had to drop them to 45 before its stable.

Bittorrent and XP

Hi,

I am having trouble with bittorrent. The torrents start downloading fine and soon are using a good chunk of my bandwith. After about 5-10 minutes xp starts to freeze for about 6 seconds at a time and each time it comes back to life the bandwith goes down until eventually the torrent stops and I then loose my connection to the net altogether. I have to reboot the machine to get back on. I am using bittorando software at the moment but have tried several ones and they all do the same. Pc spec is 384mb ram amd athalon xp 2400 if that should make any difference.

any ideas as its got me stumped.

RE: Nokia N-gage now £49.99

Thanks for this, was after a new pay as you go and that will do nicely.

RE: Verbatim Dvd+rw 4x Rewritable Media 4.7gb 10 for £1.10

Now for the bad news !!. My dvd writer is a pioneer 106 and I have since found out it doesnt like 1x bulkpac rw discs

Lifted this from blankdisk shop

DV 3023} Bulkpaq Blue 1x DVD-RW in tubs of 25 (Re-recordable disc)
A budget priced DVD-RW from Bulkpaq.
These discs can be written, erased and written again hundreds of times.
For use in all drives that can use the DVD-RW format (ie Pioneer 103, 104, 105, 106)
These discs come to us in tubs of 25.

Have you tried a firmware upgrade on the drive, its available from pioneers web site and it will probably add more media into the drive
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/article/0,,2076_4249_2370258,00.html

As for them shipping only 10 single disk, thats crap if you look a verbatim`s webiste for the product code ebuyer are listing them as a pack of 10

http://www.verbatim-europe.com/productinfo/optical/dvd_rw.shtml?menu1=product&menu2=1&menu3=3 scroll down a bit and then you will see the product code of 43246 which is the one that is on their web site

Hope this helps

RE: Verbatim Dvd+rw 4x Rewritable Media 4.7gb 10 for £1.10

I really cant see ebuyer going bankrupt can you. As long as the money goes back into my account within three days im not bothers. I got my ten packs and im well chuffed. I did try and order another ten but got the cancelled order email. i dont understand why they still have the page valid if they have no intention of honouring the orders unless they are up to no good
