RE: FREE BROADBAND!!! (terms and conditions apply)

More likely that your friend will find he isn`t getting it free and has signed up to pay the £10 a month.

I`ve had problems with TalkTalk high pressure sales techniques many times in they past. I`ve had them openly lie to me on the phone. I hate that!

Anyway, for people who can get the deal it seems to be great value - hope it works out for you.

RE: Free Baileys Frother!

Thanks OP signed up - no wonder I get so much junk mail these days :-)

Haven`t had Baileys in coffee for ages and ages. Was on a flight last year and flight attendant gave me a coffee. "Would like anything else to drink?" Seeing I was puzzled she said "how about a baileys to put in your coffee?" She never offered to froth it up for me though!

XBOX 360 Memory Card: £17.99 delivered

The sought after 64MB Xbox 360 memory cards are back in stock at Play.com for £17.99 delivered. A saving of about a fiver over other retailers.

Get in quick though, these things have been as rare as hens teeth.

RE: Free French language course with The Independent

Well, I`m arrogant, surly and rude already, so don`t need it!

RE: 7dayshop.co.uk - Free shipping for a limited time

Good spot, free postage until noon Saturday.

Seeing the previous post I found the £13.99 tripod which looks perfect my my new camera. Been meaning to get one, and this looks brilliant for £14 including delivery!

RE: £5 Play discount voucher - Daily Mirror

According to the terms and conditions the voucher is for play.com, so it doesn`t look like they can be used on playusa.com

RE: New PayPal Discount Code

Fantastic!

Just saved £13.94 using the 10% code. Thanks again to the original poster. And thankyou Paypal!

By the way, where do these codes get advertised anyway? I`ve only ever seen them posted here and MSE

RE: XBox 360 Console - Fully Loaded System £251

Thanks for posting, unfortunately ASDA e-mailed today to say the code is non-transferable and was intended for certain people only. My order is being cancelled!

RE: Free Potty traing DVD

Why would a company making nappies offer you a DVD to potty train your child unless there`s something in it for them?

I reckon the DVD will claim you shouldn`t start potty training your child until they are about 13 or 14. In the meantime they should continiue to wear huggies, which come in sizes upto 38 inch waist.

Maybe I`m being unreasonable. It could just be sour grapes because there was no such thing as DVD when I was growing up and parents had absolutely no way of knowing how to potty train.

RE: Goodmans GSR80 DAB Digital Radio £49.99

The Matsui radio isn`t that ugly, might get one.

I don`t know who came up with the idea of making nearly all DAB radios look like they are pre-war, but they need shooting! I want something modern and in-keeping with the ret of my tech stuff, not a somethine Marconi would balk at!

RE: Bush Digital TV for 49p

Just for the record I did order one. I also bought a lottery ticket. Neither won my anything.

What never ceases to amaze me is that people think they have a right to get something for nothing (well £0.49 + delivery) at any rate. Get over it - you`ll get your money back.

RE: Bush Digital TV for 49p

Totally agree with TheOgster, Argos should get a slap for taking immediate payment. I hope they think twice about this policy, and do something to prevent this type of problem in the future.

Retailers shouldn`tt take anything until stock is assigned and delivery can be assured.

As for the saddos who think they have legal recourse here, do you think these legal firms are doing this for free?

Let`s put this one to bed. We`ll get our money back soon, and Argos/Homebase have had to spend a lot of time and money putting this right, so hopefully they`ll learn from it and imnprove!

RE: Bush Digital TV for 49p

Like most people I never held out much hope of receiving anything, but if it helps show these companies they need to keep on top of their I.T. then it`s worth it for that alone. They only bolloxed up the pricing this time - next time they could get careless with personal data.

Oh, and if anyone does actually complain about not getting their £0.49 TV, I suggest you switch off your PC and go outside once in a while.

RE: mvc instore video game sale

Went to my local MVC (Newcastle) after work, only to find they`ve closed down! Oh dear! Hope this isn`t a sign of things to come for the rest of the chain.

RE: LOVEFILM TERRIBLE TURNAROUND

They must be losing hundreds of customers. Instead of practically begging people to come back to them with free rental offers maybe they could have had the decency to write to customers explaining the cause of the problems etc.

RE: LOVEFILM TERRIBLE TURNAROUND

A lot of us aren`t using a `parent company` though and have signed-up directly with Lovefilm. I`d suspected I was getting second class service because I wasn`t a big corporate customer like WH Smith for example.

Anyhoo, I cancelled Lovefilm and signed up with Blockbuster. So far am impressed. Turn around is fast, and not only that, they use plastic envelopes which don`t fall apart in the post - HURRAH!

I`ve had titles from near the top of my list too, though I think all the online rental companies dtruggle with this. They managed to send me Dodgeball this week which was on my Lovefilm list since February!

RE: LOVEFILM TERRIBLE TURNAROUND

Those bloody paper envelopes are terrible. I have to keep repairing mine to stop then falling apart further when I return the disks. When I was with choices they used plastic envelopes which didn`t tear except when you wanted them to.

It`s taking 3 days to even show my disks are returned lately - and it`s been virtually impossible to get a new release since I can`t remember when!

Thinking of trying Blockbuster myself now.

RE: SVP 99P Shipping offer extended to 11.59pm toady (Mon 25/4/05)

Very decent of them - didn`t this happen last time too?

Anyway, placed my order Sunday afternoon and I`ve got my tracking number. Now to track the parcel to my door and back to the depot when I`m not at home.

RE: Family Guy £12.99 at HMV

Just back from HMV where I bought series 1 and 2. Both are the full 2 disc version as I expected.

RE: Free landline calls in UK - would it work for you!

In the end I just signed up for 18866.com, somebody mentioned them earlier in the thread.

Bloody brilliant. I can phone anywhere in the UK at any time for a connection fee of 2 pence - and that`s it!

Family Guy £12.99 at HMV

Was in HMV yesterday and noticed they had Family Guy Series 1,2, and 3 at £12.99 per series. That`s only £1 more expensive than www.dvd.co.uk.

That`s great value if you`re into Family Guy. Each has a running time of 252 minutes.

They also had Futurama at £20 per series. That`s about as good as you`ll find on the high street.

RE: Pope for sale

Yes, hilarious. Oh I think I might split my sides if I laugh any more.

RE: Where can i get free mp3 motorola ringtones ?

You cam make your own too. I have downloaded wav files from the web, and used ediiting software to turn them into MP3. Works fine for my Moto V3.

RE: Master Replicas LOTR Frodo Sting Sword FX

Thanks, but an auction isn`t a bargain.

RE: DVD Recorder £99.99 at the CO-OP

The one between the Muller Yoghurts and the Walkers Crisps? Could be good.

I`ve never heard of Swisstec. Anyone got any idea who ther are? Are these rebadged machines?

RE: very cheap, free or even better DVD`s.

Yes, eBay can throw up bargains. Sometimes items are poorly described or just slip through un-noticed.

RE: very cheap, free or even better DVD`s.

I appreciate the sentiment - but this isn`t a bargain is it. Buying an item for a low price and selling it for a profit isn`t much of a revelation to anyone.

RE: Free £25 Bet - This is Good

Well, this is different to say the least.

There is an explanation of the binary and decimal betting system on the website FAQ, but I`m still struggling to get my head round it.

This being the case, maybe I shouldn`t have paid in £25 and bet it all.

If I win anything, I might bet some on which driveres WON`T win the grand prix. There`s a good chance a German driving an Italian car will win.

RE: Dabs deal of the week...ViewSonic VE702M 17 £149.98

Good price, but the contrast ratio is a little @ 350:1 Most others seem to be quoting at least 500:1. The 14ms response time is pretty good though. So swings and roundabouts really.

RE: BT BROADBAND cheap as chips - check it.

Yeah, put it to them. . . .

Will they:-

a) Offer you a special rate only for you,

or

b) Sorry we are losing you - goodbye.
