Dixons store closures - some bargains

Sandy Matthews (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 18th May 2004, 19:26

Dixons are closing a load of their stores, and there`s a few bargains to be had in the shops affected. I think all have got 10% off all items. The store in Falkirk today had 30% off all home cinema kit (tempted, but just got one from SkyBuy....), and also ALL software was buy one, get one free - that`s all PS2, XBOX, GameCube, GameBoy and PC games. Dixons prices tend to be quite high, but paying £40 for 2 brand new games can`t be bad....Had a wide range, although no brand new games (i.e. games released in the last couple of weeks)

Dixons in Stirling, 50% of all games, all peripherals, and pretty much anything else if you ask them nicely. Oh, also 50% off all TVs over 17" excluding plasma and LCD

Thanks for the list, sput2001, been trying to find out which ones were going for a while...
Too bad for me the one in Plymouth`s not shutting; too many mugs prepared to pay over the odds in Devon, I guess.

There won`t be anything much left now if my local store is anything to go by.....

After last saturday the shop was virtually bare as if invaded by locusts.

I didn`t see any real bargains that interested me.

They had a Philips 30inch LCD Widescreen TV for £1750 which is not much of a bargain considering it was ex-display and marked.
