Nice price, but the PC looks like stank!

to be honest the toysrus version is better value

you get 3.4 gig, 200 harddrive and a 17inch tft for 1099

I agree with Rambo, I got the ToyrUs one last time after missing the Aldi one, and glad I did. Better graphics card (256mb as opposed to 128mb). BIgger hard dive (160gb), and even though it came as a package so had a monitor, it`s a nice 17" TFT o glad I did.

It`s also a nicer looking casing, similar in design but more curvy.

As Rambo says, they upped the processor and hard drive even more at ToysrUs now, although dropped the graphics card spec slightly, and the monitor doesn`t look as nice if it`s the one in the photo. It also comes with the remote control now like the Aldi one, which mine didn`t. Although it`s all controllable from the cordless keyboard anyway.

The ToysrUs one also havs a Game Port connection for joysticks etc on the Connect XL front panel which the Aldi one didn`t.

Details of the current ToysrUs one is here.

Platform ladder for £50 isn`t bad deal either - just the job for my hedges!

I think there is a fault with my cybermaxx.. is yours really noisy. Mine sounds like a hoover going off. I think the fan might be dodgy, although medion say they need a really high powered (read noisy) fan to support 3.4gig type processors.

Hows urs?

No really, it`s very quiet. My router makes a more annoying noise (sort of feintly whistles..lol)

The noisiest bits are the DVD drive spinning up, and the hard drive occasionally. But most of the time you don`t hear it. I wouldn`t have thought the difference between a 3.02 and a 3.4 was enough to need a different noisier fan would you, they`ve still both P4`s too?

The most you know of the fan is when you put your hand next to the exhaust port on the side of the case and can feel a whisp of air coming out of it. Sounds like you might have got a faulty fan like you say.

it`s a nice 178" TFT

I feel a bit inadequate with my newly purchased microscopic 17" model.

The new Aldi connect XL is an improved version to the TRU spec. with the gameport - it has extra L/R audio inputs and 5 card slots not 4.

The TRU Connect XL came with the last Aldi CP[at]6.2 Ghz `cos I got one and have been very happy with it.
