RE: PSP and software version

Any news on a decent browser for 1.5 then?

PSP and software version

Hi

Im a bit lost with the world of PSPs these days. I have managed to downgrade my psp to version 1.5 (from v 2.0) so that i can play iso backups and the rest of homebrew. To be honest, one of my most used options was the web browser.

Is there now a way to play iso backups on v 2.0? Have they managed to do this yet? If not, is there now a decent browser (as good as the sony version) available for 1.5?

any help much appreciated, as the psp forums are a mine field

RE: dvd ripping encoding is too slow

hmm. takes me 15 mins to encode, and about 15 mins to burn.. never really more than 30 mins tops.. have a 4x recorder, but i never bother to rip anything other than the main movie.. always skip the titles etc

RE: just bought the cybermaxx pc

i guess the dvd/cd flaps are a tad flimsy, but the drives are ace quality. pioneer and sony. also the front panel is fine... you are unlikely to be using that all of the time, so will take a fair amount of play.

downside - the noise. i took mine back to toysrus on sat, and had them open another one up, but i am told as it is 3.4 gig it needs a mighty fan - hence the noise. if you can be bothered to replace the fan, its a fantastic deal

the monitor is the best bit. altho its some dodgy brand - yakumo or something, it looks ace. the buttons are all quality and the resoultion is crystal. in fact, the monitor was the one thing i was most impressed with

RE: Aldi PC £750 from 1st April plus other PC-related stuffy-whatnot at bargainous prices

Mark

I think there is a fault with my cybermaxx.. is yours really noisy. Mine sounds like a hoover going off. I think the fan might be dodgy, although medion say they need a really high powered (read noisy) fan to support 3.4gig type processors.

Hows urs?

RE: Aldi PC £750 from 1st April plus other PC-related stuffy-whatnot at bargainous prices

to be honest the toysrus version is better value

you get 3.4 gig, 200 harddrive and a 17inch tft for 1099

pinnacle instant copy question

hi

it seems this software doesnt allow you to backup any dvd that has css protection. Does anyone know of any patch or anything that will allow this.

Also - what is the best software to backup dvds. I want to backup dual layer to single layer at the best quality, but i dont want any of the extras that are assoicated with films these days. Can you do this without loosing the quality?

RE: just bought the cybermaxx pc

funny you should say that.. i check out a number of different places, but i couldnt find a cheaper alternative with the same spec. even if i built the thing myself it came to the same price so i think it was a good deal. graphics cards im not so bothered with as am not a gamer. i just wanted a beefed up machine that would be future proof (for a while at least)

just bought the cybermaxx pc

from toys r us. The 3.4 gig baby. its a really good deal and all the components are of high quality. I love the tft and the wireless keyboar is superb.

One thing - this puppy is damn noisy. it sounds like a hoover. Ias this normal for P4 3.4Gig machines? Am thinking the fan might be dodgy as this is well noisy

RE: Cheap Rechargeable Batteries!

Hi

another cheeky request. I bought some AA rechargables, but i really needed AAA. Anyone want to swap one pack of AAA for a pack of AA (the AA pack is for 4 batteries) oh these are the Tesco Energizer ones....

Heres hoping

RE: rate this bargain - desktop pc

Hi - ive done as you suggested with the build a trons and im still getting a price in excess of the toys r us offer.
Summing it all up - i will wait till the end of next month, for aldi to step up - if not then will go for the next toysrus offer

RE: wireless networking question

so i have to have a router? a wireless access point on its own wont work?

right so a i need a wireless router, plus a wireless access point,

connectivity
1. Cable modem to wireless router
2. Wireless router to wireless access point
3. PC to wireless access point
4. Laptop to wireless access point

have i got that right?

wireless networking question

need some advice pls

i currently have a pc at home (quite old - pII 350) and a cable modem with ntl (600M) i want to use my work laptop to connect to the internet via the broadband. My laptop will have a wireless card and the software to connect to my work network.

What do i need to buy - do i need to upgrade the modem to a wireless modem or do i need a wireless access point?

In either case, how does this affect the pc that is currently using the cable modem (connected via ethernet nic to ethernet port on modem)

thanks v much

RE: rate this bargain - desktop pc

cheers for the long reply - now im confused!!!

one says its expensive the other says its good value. The aldi one should be due soon, but the wait is killing me - and this seems to be the same allbeit £100 odd more expensive.

the great thing in waiting for the aldi offer is the 3 yr guarantee - what do toysrus offer?

RE: rate this bargain - desktop pc

right.. so not a good buy then? Any ideas where i can get a similar spec at a better price?

rate this bargain - desktop pc

im in 2 minds as to whether to go for the below or wait till the next Aldi offer. Please let me know whether this is worth going for...

there are 2 PCs on the toys r us site - one being £100 more and the only diff i can see is an extra 50Gb. Is that worth £100 more?

RE: Sherwood R6103

Basically.. I bought a reconditioned unit for 120 which was dodgy so i returned it and they didnt have another one to swap it for, so got the 6103 at the same price... so far so good.. havent got any issues with it.

Also bought the Gale Moviestar speaker package which seems pretty cool too.

Aiway 370 anyone?

Ive got this player and its pretty decent, (bought from richer for 160) but its a bit dodgy in playing cds (the majority of my cds are cdrs) It skips on occasion and crackles with some. I might return it, but wanted a view on whether this player is still considered decent, or if anyone else has had similar problems.

Rgds

Sherwood R6103

Anyone got this amp? Whats the verdict guys?

Ive just bought it from Richer Sounds and its ok.. but if i can get better for the money (paid £120) then i will get a refund and swap it.

So far it seems ok.. dts, etc.. but always good to relieve some post purchase dissonance!
