Too bloody good to miss - Sky+ for a Ton!!!!

Thanks to CliveG over at the AV forums for posting this:

[quote]A couple of guys already know this, but I thought I`d start a new thread for everybody...

I`ve just ordered sky+ this morning for £99 plus £1 installation...it is going to be installed this Saturday...result! I`m also an existing customer with a standard sky box.

I phoned 0870 2423256 and quoted ref number USKPBTAA...and had no problems. Existing box will be left with me, as I own it, and didn`t want installation in another room. That would have been free, with only an extra £10 subs fee.

If you want one get in quick...they have about 1500 refurbed ex-demo units to get rid of. Full 12 month warranty and upgraded to current spec. Not many left I understand!![/

Ive been wanting this for some time now but the price has been putting me off.

I ordered Sky+ this morning and it will be fitted on the 28th Jan.

It is a friends and family of staff offer but tbh they dont really ask - you just say a friend of your works for sky and he told you about it. (if they ask - i wasnt asked tho)

I reckon this is bargain of the century ;-)

Enjoy

Neil

Thanks

If only I didn`t have to pay the sub...

I`d have got Sky+ myself if I didn`t have to pay an extra 10 pounds a month on top of my Sky Family Pack subscription forever (yes, you can get it with no sub, but only if you have more than one premium channel, which I don`t). With Sky increasing their subscriptions by more than inflation in each of the past two years (12% in Jan 2003 and now another 5% in Jan 2004), they`re joking if they expect anyone to pay another 120 quid a year ad infinitum for just owning Sky+.

I thought this deal was a one-off payment of £100 ? If not, I am aware that this will be an option in 2004, for around this price.

When I ordered it, you do take out a new twelve month contract (can cancel in first month), but didn`t need to be a premium one on this deal. Or at least, that was what I was led to believe... better check the direct debit I suppose......

I currently have the top package (£38 a month) If I have this Sky+ deal does this increase to £48 per month ????

Cheers

Pete

No, the ten pound sub is waived if you have two premium channels eg Skysports 2 and MovieMax

Jesus Christ! You could choke a donkey on that!

Hi,

I just rang the number (0870 2423256) and quoted the ref USKPBTAA and got nowhere...Didn`t recognise the reference and I got quoted the normal £199 + £10...

Is this offer only open to existing customers ?

Second thoughts...Just tried again and the reference doesn`t match the phone number...This is a Friends and family offer so they were a little bit suspicious of where I got it but as I had `found out` about it it`s now ordered.....

£110 for the Sky+ box and additional digital decoder with installation...Now that is a bargain...

At last now I can ditch the Telewest boxes...

shame I`m going to have to say good bye to Tivo though...

Thanks for the tip guys....
