Amazon are offering a Yamada/Umax DVD 2500 player including delivery for £29.99. I don`t know anything about it but at under £30 delivered - can you ask for more ???

www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000DC3MW

If you are not already an Amazon customer you can also get the £3 introductory certificate - making it even more of a bargain.

You can`t beat a good bargain !!!

I bought one for brother`s family for christmas. Will do multi region and a hunk o` formats by the looks of things. Also looks nice and small which is a bonus. But she-it who designed the YAMADA logo. Looks like a 3rd year design project.

anyone know how the Yamada version numbers work? THis is a DVD 2500, but the only references on either the yamada website or vcdhelp.com are to the DVD 2100. Are these the same family, but this is a later version?

Also on amazon is the DVD 5520, anyone know the difference? think this is related to the DVD 5120? or the Divx 5500?

anyone an opinion on whether this (or the 5520) is a better bet than the Pacific at Asda?

I had just decided to buy the pacific, now i`m confused again

First both players do not have an RGB scart.Which is a shame...
I have had both players and the 5520 is worth the extra 10 quid imho
As the 2500 doesn`t have 5.1 or resume play.In order words if you are
half way thru a vcd/dvd etc and switch the player off the movie starts from the
beginning again.

Hi, was about to order this machine, then noticed no SCART cable included in the box, it isn`t RGB Scart output, no resume play etc. etc.

This is for use in our bedroom with a small TV.

So, should I go ahead and use the composite?

Or at Amazon they have the Medion MD40288 for £39.99 i.e. an extra £10, this looks a better machine and includes a SCART cable, so maybe a better economy?

If I am happy to spend £40, can anybody recommend a better machine elsewhere, Pacific at ASDA? Is this a better machine, multi region? If so, how much?

etc. etc.

Thanks

Bunnster
