That is a good price but if you use the code that is available when you are being referred by one of your FRIENDS you get another £2 off making it £17.99 - ;)

RE: Bush Digital TV for 49p

They have definately taken the money - but does that form a contract of sale ?? Does the contract exists from :-

1. The offer to sell at a certain price - NO
2. The offer to buy at that price - NO
3. The acceptance of offer to buy - POSSIBLY
4. The money changes hands - I WOULD CERTAINLY HOPE SO !!!!!

According to Argos, they think it is :-

5. On despatch to you of the products ordered.

I am not sure this is in line with the Sales of Goods Act but since when did that matter.

As was previously mentioned - if we get the bargain then all to the good but if not then it is no loss as long as we get our money back !!!

RE: Couple of Sat Nav PDAs

Does anyone have any experience of `obtaining` and the use of maps for other countries - US, Germany, France, Italy, etc.

Can this be done and if so how much do they cost ??

RE: Aladdin in Asda

Don`t supose anyone has tried using a coupon against this have they ?

I have Aladdin on VHS but as I now no longer have a player it might be nice to get this as a replacement for as little as possible - say 97p!!!

Might give it a go at the week end.

RE: Free £15-£25 worth of Asda clothes vouchers..

only problem is that I'm not sure I want to walk around in George clothing!

:/ I can not understand this comment !!!!!

I have not actually seen much of the George range of clothes for a while - what have they done to it - have they started printing `George from ASDA` on the back or something as the last time I looked there would be no way of telling that it came from ASDA.

The only way anyone else would know it is George is if they shop in ASDA themselves and as such they are probably wearing George clothing as well. cmiiw !!

If I had CTF`s I would be hot footing it down to my local Asda.

RE: Plasma Package from Tiny

I have not seen the advert - what is the resolution ??

At that price it would have to be about 640 by 480 to make it as bad as you make out !!!!

1000:1 is not that bad is it - I know it is not as good as some of the `brand name` units but it is better than some of the other so called cheap units that are a lot more expensive.

I am sure the prices of such items will continue to fall but at this time IMHO this is a very good deal - even from Tiny, after all they are not actually making the panel just badging it and selling it on.

RE: Forget The IPod - Get One Of These!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got one of the NPODs from Novatech last week and it is great. Plug and Play with drag and drop for MP3 and WMA. Easy to use and navigate the directories.

So far I have used the MP3, Voice Recorder, FM Radio and hard drive capabilities and find it a great little bit of kit - smaller than I thought it would be.

Of course I have already filled it with 20 Gb of data and now wish I had got a 40gb model but I can always remove some of the rubbish music that I put on to start with :)

RE: Star Wars: Phantom Menace & Attack of the Clones £6.99 each at CD-WOW

Already have I on VHS and II on DVD but at £3.49 I think it is time to replace the VHS with DVD.

Excellent spot - thanks for the tip off !!!

RE: Lord Of The Rings - Return Of The King - Region 2 £8.99 (or cheaper)

I ordered this when it was £10.99 and used the burton link and a footy e-voucher to make the cost £8.49.

When I saw that the price had been reduced to £8.99 I was a little put out that I had wasted my discount so I sent an email to customer services and they responded by offering a £2.00 e-voucher as a good will gesture.

Once again I am in awe of the service from CD-Wow and wish that some other online retaillers would take a leaf out of their book.

RE: Money off vouchers from CD WOW

I am not quite sure why the links are not allowed on this forum ? I understand that without the actual terms of the offer you `might` not be supposed to use a link - fair enough.

A link that is generated as a sub page on the www.cdwow.com site (by a retail store such as Burton in the case of this current offer or a bank such as TSB in the case of the Trustcard offer) has no terms attached that prevent access to the offer, should not - in my humble opinion - be removed.

Yes the offer is not available from the cdwow homepage but no steps have been taken to prevent users from accessing the sub page (and this is not rocket science).

If I went into Burtons and was handed a leaflet that said "Visit www.cdwow.com/burton for £1.50 off any product" (or words to that effect) would I be expected not to show that leaflet to anyone else - I don`t think so.

This forum is simply doing the same thing - showing other people the leaflet - electronically.

We all know that if cdwow want to limit the use of vouchers they can as they do with the e-vouchers they send out - so what is the problem ?

Thanks for taking the time to read this rant - I feel better now that I have that off my chest. :D

RE: Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King (2 Discs) £9.99

RE: Anytime Dial-up Internet Access for just over £4 per month - only 423 left !!!

The price has now gone upto £60 and will rise again tomorrow at noon by £20.

RE: Anytime Dial-up Internet Access for just over £4 per month

I have used the Gio adsl service for over a year and while I did have a couple of problems in the first month or so I have had no problems since.

I have had another email from them today saying that there are only 423 out of 5000 accounts left and that the price will soon rise to £60 for 12 months.

If I was using a dialup account I would definately give this a go.

Anytime Dial-up Internet Access £5 per month till 14/05/04 !!!

Now I know that this is nothing to do with DVD`s and that many people will have moved to braodband but I still feel that a one off payment of £50 for 12 months anytime internet access must be a bargain !!!!

That is just over £4 per month and the contention ration is only 5:1 which means it should be faster than many of the other major ISP`s

http://www.giointernet.com/summer/anytime-12.aspx

If you are paying upto £14.99 per month then take a look at this from GioInternet.

Sorry forgot to add - limited to first 5000 customers .

RE: Sainsburys free beer/DVD offer

I was in my local Sainsburys - Aberdeen (Berryden) yesterday and saw the offer - Buy one of the selected DVD`s for £9.99 and get 10 bottles of Stella worth £5.99 free.

If you like Stella and want one of these titles then at £4.00 for the dvd it is quite good.

RE: Free DVD in Saturdays `The Mirror`

As I enjoy a good bargain I applied for all four of these DVD`s and was in great doubt as to whether these would ever appear. I am now eating my hat as I have received Muriels Wedding, Enemy of the State, Face Off and just the other day I received Good Will Hunting which I had all but forgotten about.

So don;t give up hope !!!

RE: Another free dvd in Saturdays Mirror

This DVD was inside the paper in Scotland last Saturday - no coupons, no vouchers, no visit to Virgin/Woollies etc. it was included in the paper in a cardboard cover. You never know they might do the same elsewhere.

RE: Videosender sets at £29.99 - Aldi

With regard to the Maplins kit mentioned above - I got one of the sets from Maplins a few months ago - they were on offer at £30 off so I only paid £49.99. The set includes a sender and a receiver so it does have all you need to get started but at £79.99 I think you could do better. The extra £30 is for an additional receiver in case you have an additional telly somewhere else in the house.

The kit works very well, the only problem I have with this is that it is analogue so it means a return to ghosting etc and seems a bit of a backwards step for anyone who has a digital telly or box.

I have ordered a digital version of this - Argos has an analogue set for £69.99 and the digital kit from £79.99.

When I get the digital one I will let you know if it is any better.

RE: SPLASHDVD.COM - PLACE YOUR OPINIONS FOR POTENTIAL BUYERS.

About two weeks ago I ordered a copy of Ice Age using a £2 introductory voucher - making the cost £4.49 including delivery and have not recieved it yet.

Splash says they have sent the goods and that I should wait 21 days before querying the lack of delivery. Not very encouraging !!!

Worse than that - my credit card has been debited for £97 -odds which obviously I have queried with the credit card company.

Even if this is sorted out - I doubt very much whether I would buy from them again. I think I will stick to CDWOW - good prices - good service and reliable delivery.

RE: Cordless DECT BT phone £28 plus delivery

Got mine today - arrived in a CityLink delivery bag - no mention of the contents on the outside.

Looks really good - the hand set is very slim and the base is not bulky like some. I was worried that at this price it might arrive in a brown box or something but no it is the full retail boxed item - brand new and a most excellent spot.

Highly recommend this one - at that price (less than most dect phones) it is worth getting one as a second or third phone if you already have a DECT/GAP phone or answering machine.

RE: Cordless DECT BT phone £28 plus delivery

Even better - this is actually a DECT phone AND answering machine - great spot - thanks.

Real £1 off at CDWOW !!!

There have been many £1 off CDWOW posts that have been sterilised by the mods. and this I can understand.

Hopefully this one will not need the cleansing process to be applied.

We have all read the www.cdwow.com/********* postings and if you haven`t then I apologise but there is not point in me putting that in this post just to have someone remove it.

www.thetrainline.com are currently running a promotion that if you book a ticket through the site for a train journey then you can get a £1 off CDWOW. The user is redirected to a link to reduce the screen prices by £1.

This offer is only for customers of thetrainline.com. Other compnaies have offered similar exclusive deals in the past - one that I remember using was the old Jungle.com used to have an offer for Llyods TSB Trustcard holders. This worked in a similar fashion and was exclusive to Lloyds customers.

The TRAINLINE link works in the same way as the one I have not mentioned above.

Have I said to much - I don`t think so - I hardly even understand it myself - GOOD LUCK

RE: cdwow bargains

Sorry but my post above is obviously not clear - I do know how to get the £2.50 off at CDWOW but when I go to the site with no vouchers at all the title I mentioned is priced at £6.99 so unless I am being a bit dense (quite likely) that would make it £4.49 and not £3.49 ?

Some would say that £4.49 is a good enough price anyway but if I can get it for less then ...
