I`ve had a R1 copy of this for at least 6 months, if not longer.

It appears to have the same extras as the one above so there`s no need to wait until next year, it`s "out there" already.

Be aware that DvDsoon may be the slowest supplier on the net.
Of the ten or so discs I`ve ordered in the last six months three are still on back order when everyone else has them in stock, four I cancelled after weeks of waiting and the others were dispatched weeks after their release, after being stuck in that DVDsoon hell they call pending.
They NEVER reply to emails so be prepared to receive your disc around april 2003.
Learning that you get what you pay for, I ordered the same disc from CDwow. It was dispatched less than two days later.
Personally I`d rather pay a few pounds extra and not have to wait months for discs.

I ordered this on 25/11/02 and it came back on my credit card statement as £7.06. With regards to dvdsoon`s delivery times, I ordered LOTR (extended) back in the summer and it turned up a week or so after the UK release but it was only £19.62 and whilst money isn`t everything it means an awful lot to me!

Why is it that, given that it`s already out on R1, they aren`t getting it for another couple of months??

Could be that being a Canadian company this is actually the dual English/French release.
BTW as a retired early on health grounds non earner, money is very tight with me as well, and I would love to buy everything at DVDsoon ( and I`ve told them so ) but the nice site and great prices are no good if EVERY order has delays or problems.
A prime example is Dog Soldiers, ordered 4 weeks before the release date and on the release day goes to " On Order (Date Not Available / Date Non Disponible " and has been in that limbo for two weeks.
Either they are the most appallingly run company or they satisfy all American and Canadian orders first.
I rather suspect the latter. :-((

The Donnie Darko that is being released in February is just a budget re-release with the same specs as the R1 version that is available now.

I posted this on another site the other day and thought it would be helpful here, too.

For anyone that doesn`t want to get charged before despatch, or would rather avoid DVDSoon, note that www.amazon.ca now have Donnie Darko on pre-order for CAD11.19 (approx £4.44) plus delivery at CAD6.98 (approx £2.77). The total cost is about £7.21, which is about 8p more than by airmail from DVDSoon. However, if you can combine it with another order, then the price will come down.
