Law and Order Series 1 £8.99

The 6 disc box set of Law and Order Series 1 is available at Sendit.com for £8.99 including postage. If you received their email with the £2 voucher, its only £6.99! It still appears to be in stock at the moment.

RE: Guesstimates welcome. I`m sitting comfortably

I used to work for British Gas. I seem to recall the engineers being paid commision if they manged to get the consumer to buy appliances. I don`t know if this is the case nowadays but it worth bearing in mind. Perhaps it may well pay you to get a quote elsewhere. I can say with some certainty though that even as an employee with a 30% discount, I used to find it cheaper to go to suppliers other than British Gas!

RE: ScreenSelect - recently slow at sending out DVDs?

I too will be kicking Screenselect in to touch before my next payment is due. Like most people I have suffered from their slow turnaround In addition to this I have had problems with DVDs that just would not play. I'm not suggesting that evil forces are at work but on complaining at receiving my first unplayable DVD the next three I received were totally unplayable too. May they go the way of Splash!

RE: ANYONE USED SPLASH VOUCHERS???

I received the box set of the Secret Army this morning from Splash. The label on the package qouted the value as £35.22 (although I only paid £30.22 with the voucher offer) and it was described as "Merchandise". In addition there was a small sticker stating "UK IMPORT VAT PAID". So, no extra charges and I`m a very happy bunny!

Watch em!

The price you see at DFS is not always what you get. The price gets bumped up with add ons such as Scotchguarding, casters and plastic bits to protect your laminate flooring should you have it.
Beware if you make use of their interest free credit option! They play a little psychological trick on you when it comes to the interest free period itself by asking what period you wish to make your repayments over and starting at six months and slowly moving at six month increments in the hope that you don't last the course until they get to the 48 months offer.
Whilst completing the application form instore, the salesman deliberately tried to deceive me by saying very rapidly under his breath that "payment protection is included" and indeed it was as the git had ticked the box himself and it adds a fair few quid to your monthly payments.
That said, the furniture itself is of good quality, comfortable and durable. Just be a bit wary and watch what you sign!

When a bargain is NOT a bargain

A couple of days ago I received the region one version of 24 Hour Party People for what I considered to be the bargain price of £13.99. Imagine my disappointment when I received it only to find it is a single disc edition. For a quid more I could have bought the all singing and dancing region 2 double disc with stacks more extras. Be warned!

RE: Donnie Darko for £7.50

I ordered this on 25/11/02 and it came back on my credit card statement as £7.06. With regards to dvdsoon`s delivery times, I ordered LOTR (extended) back in the summer and it turned up a week or so after the UK release but it was only £19.62 and whilst money isn`t everything it means an awful lot to me!
