The scope of Bargain Buckets entries

the doc1 (Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 30th November 2002, 00:28

Im all for widening the scope of entries beyond dvd, re razorblades and dishwater tabs etc, if this would be ok with adminitrators/members.

There seems plenty of room, there only being a few entries each day at the moment, and the idea of sharing current bargains seems a brilliant idea.

When i first encountered this site a couple of days ago i thought what a good idea and i wonder if this sort of thing is done on othe sites for all different types of goods, does anyone know of any other such sites which would satisfy these needs?

also thanks for the postings about cheep cdr`s at morissonsand the pacific dvd player at asda which i have benefited from(i like the 100 day return it if you dont like it policy for the asda item)

cheers
the doc

I`m with the doc on this one too. Any money saved on anything in the run up to Xmas means that funds can then be saved and diverted to essential causes like games, disks, players, tellies, accessories...
I also took advantage of the CDRs at Morrisons and have been happily "backing up" ever since.

Personally, I`d rather keep this forum "DVD bargain related"

I don`t mind the odd posting about home cinema equipment, as this probably interests a lot of readers. But I`d rather not wade through lots of postings on dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid etc, just to find what I`m interested in (DVDs)

If people want to discuss cheap household goods then it`s not difficult to set up a seperate forum. So please don`t spoil it for the rest of us.

I think any bargains should be allowed to be posted in the forum, as long as it is clear by the heading actually what the bargain is and then if it doesn`t interest you...skip it!

The more you save on everyday stuff the more you can spend on DVD`s.

Sound good to me

Everyone loves a bargain!

Cheers

People seem pretty sensible about it from what I`ve seen in the last year or so. Generally DVD related bargains are posted if there is any saving (or just best price found). Non DVD but computing/techie/electrical stuff is posted if it`s a good saving, and completely unrelated stuff only seems to get posted when the saving is huge.

The one exception of course are the regular booze offers, but which of us is going to say these aren`t of interest???

Nobody is being forced to wade through lots of postings on dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid etc just to find dvd info.

Isn`t that what the topic header is for ?

If topic is for cheap cornish pasties do you go there to see what region they are ?

I don`t look there if I am not interested in buying cornish pasties so I am not wading through any postings I don`t want to be reading

I agree with wayne3765 (is there really 3764 other wayne`s registered?).

As long as the heading is clear. Anyway this thread does not contain a bargain so why is it not in the General Forums?

:o)

I agree with Wayne 3765, any savings I make ,will come in handy for buying DVD`s.
If the Header doesn`t interest you, skip it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, Its been about 2 weeks since I last checked in and I am a bit concerned that I might be tempted to start lookin up pastie websites and dishwashing powder sites. Excuse me if I got the dishwashing bit wrong as im no sure if they use powder or tablets - just the kitchen area is not my department.

Anyway, Is this not DVD reviewer and anything that is supposed to be related....

Not sure if my DVD player would play pasites....

LOL.

Its just I don`t really want to search through about 60 tips looking for a half decent one....if you know what I mean.
