RE: Webelectricals.co.uk - Anyone bought from them before.

My neighbour bought from them and had no problems.

All those well known online electrical stores are all pretty
much the same.

(http://www.qed-uk.com - this one i find is usually the cheapest)

RE: Scan!!

Yawn. As i said if youv`e got one of course your going to defend it :).

I am pleased your happy with your player i am just saying thereare
Better and Cheaper players and better customer service out there.

And IMO these 3 things are all that most people are looking for.

I`m certainly not looking for a player which will be releasing constant firmwares for the problems with my player.

Price, Quality and CS is ALL I am interested in and i suspect most people here are too.

For anyone else reading this buy a "cheaper" and "better" M5 !!!!

RE: How do i connect the sonel macrovision up?

Navs can you connect it up in a way to do both though?, ie without have to switch it around depending on which i want to use

RE: advice - best dvd player

I agree with Mike, your problems sound excessive, if they do continue after Mikes advice i would take it back form where you bought it no matter how old and see if they can help you before splashing out on a new player.

ps. As for sony dvd players, there are better players for less money imo
ie pioneer, or the new toshiba210

RE: Scan!!

Hi

Sorry im not talking about old reviews i am talking about "THIS MONTHS"
review, and I am not bias as i am quoting from the review itself !!
Which says, and i quote:::

"For the serious audio/videophile it is undeniably lacking" -
Picture Quality:: 7/10

As for "Its good for the money, this is ridiculous.

It isn`t a cheap player many good players cost under £200. The Wharfedale M5 is actually cheaper than the scan player!! (Scans being £163.11+11.75 postage= £175) The M5 is £169.

The M5 p***es all over the scan. until you guys buy a decent player, of course your going to think your scan is good, id probably defend it if i had one, people driving Ladas defend their cars!!, but the arguments about cheap player, old reviews, and bias, just dont add up!!

Anyone looking to buy a player, buy yourself a:
"cheaper" and "better"
player buy the M5 !!

:-)

ps. IMO Aftersales is just as important as the player and Tescos aftersales kicks Scan into touch - seeing as Scan are one of the worst aftersales companies in the uk!

How do i connect the sonel macrovision up?

Hi
I know some people here have this so wanted to ask:

Can you connect it up in a way that allows both removal of macrovision from the dvd player and also from sky digital (ie because the box office movies are all macrovision) ?.

Scan!!

Quite right. Scan are crap!

Obviously if youv`e got one of their crap players you think there good!.
If those people were to go buy themselves an M5, Pioneer or Toshiba, they would realise just what theyv`e been missing.

This months whatvideo&tv: Scan DVD Picture Quality: 7/10 !!! (which is pretty low for the Whatvideotv ratings)
And i quote " For the serious audio/videophile it is undeniably lacking"

For the money there are much better players out there!!!.

RE: Which player to get, Tosh210 or WharfM5

Anyone have a magazine review of the M5??.

The tosh is reviewed this month (WV&T) and gets a great review i would like to see a review for the M5.

many thanks

Which player to get, Tosh210 or WharfM5

Stuck as to which to go for the

Toshiba210 or Wharfedale M5

Can anyone give me an advantage of one over the other?

Do you know if the M5 has multiregion auto or manual switching? and does the M5 cope with rce well ???

Thanks in advance
