Just tried it with hollowman and a knights tale, took 3 goes before it started playing hollowman, 1st try with knghts tale,

If it doesn`t work with stop,play try Record and play it`s a pain but it does tend to play after a few goes.

To get the hack to work you need to go into the system menu, move down to the remote, move over to remote control used and change it to dvd player, press OK exit the menu and do the hack again but enter the 121 212 005 255 numbers instead.

Don`t forget to change the remote back over to dvd recorder.

The first Rce disk I tried was the charlie`s angels disk, it wouldn`t play, I ejected the disk but left it in the tray and pressed the stop button on the front of the unit (not the remote) and while keeping my finger on the stop button I also pressed the record button. it took the disk back in and played, also done it with the patriot disk.

A quick way to find out is the dvd1e is hackable.

Put in a region 1 dvd and wait till it tells you it wont play,
open the tray, and leave the dvd disk inside
with the tray open press repeat (bottom right hand button with A-B on it)
enter 387671 try to enter the numbers before the disk tray closes.
the disk should play if it does the region hack is still there.

when you switch back into standby it will revert back to zone 2

Switch on the DVD then make sure the dvd-button is set to dvd on the player,

then press both the "FF" and PAUSE/PLAY buttons on the dvd, and hold them for 5 seconds this will give you a choice of languages on your tv screen press 1 for english.

wait 5 seconds till it says "no disk" on the DVD display.(or wait for the samsung logo to appear) then press Setup then repeat ( bottom right hand button with a-b on it ) enter 387679 (no need to look at tv screen just enter the numbers) press Open on front of DVD. then power off, power on with remote standby button.

You should now be able to play all region disks.

put in a disk, it will now play.

The following was posted to another forum, but for a gdv130 worth a try to see if it works.

Firmware version check:
OPEN SETUP STOP STEP MENU

Secret menu:
OPEN-SETUP-SHUFFLE-STEP-NEXT
Current Region setting is visible at the bottom, no change possible using
this screen.

Change Region:
OPEN-SETUP-N-2-0-0-0-STEP-SHUFFLE-NEXT
N represents the region to set, 9 bypasses region check. No prob with RCE.

Macrovision off:
SETUP-STOP-TITLE-PREV-SETUP
Set this, while disk is running, stays like that until player is set into
standby mode.

Raise volume using line out:
SETUP-STOP-STEP-TITLE

Raise volume using SCART:
SETUP-STOP-STEP-ANGLE

If you dvd is a region 2 dvd, and you`ve cold started the dvd again it has reset to region 2, so just enter the hack again, press repeat, 3 8 7 6 7 9 (for multizone) press open on your dvd, press standby on your remote.

I think the ds2000 is the uk model of the dhc2200,if so try the following.
switch the dvd on with no disk inserted and wait for the logo to appear.
press stop,title,step,next, which should bring up a menu, scroll down to region id,set to bypass.

Have you tried searching for your code?
to try searching,turn on the DVD, then with your Cinema 7 press the dvd button then release, press and hold setup till the led blinks twice then enter 991. with the remote pointing towards the dvd slowly alternate between pressing the power and dvd button till the dvd turns off, (could take up to 100 times before the dvd turns off). When the dvd turns off press and release the setup button to store the code.

Also explains the above on page 22 of your remote manual.

If that works switch the dvd back on with the remote, press setup 085 to continue the hack.

All I can suggest is to wipe off the codes on your remote and start again.
If you press the DVD button then setup wait for the led to blink twice quickly, then enter 992, press the DVD button and DVD button again. (The led will flash twice again to confirm erase)

Switch off your Philips DVD at the mains for 15 seconds, switch back on this will reset/reboot your DVD.
Now try reprogramming the remote again.
If it fails try reprogramming it on the VCR button, its been known to work.

What model number is your remote?.
If it`s a URC-7200 there are 2 codes for the philips DVD`s they are 0539 (the most popular) and 0503 if the first don`t work give the second a try.

Are you are doing this in front of the DVD? you must be within a few feet and the remote must be pointing towards the DVD.

You`ve got a DVD button on that remote, so just program it on that.

Just downloaded the manual, and if you look on page 27 you will find that it says "Colour System...........PAL ". Sorry no NTSC and no mention of NTSC video playback via SCART which you will find on most tvs.

The firmware version 1 doesn`t have the hack. But if you phone LG and tell them you have a problem playing some disks like "The Matrix" or "dinosaur" they will update the software for you. Or some LG dealers can update the software for you as they have a unit for doing this.

But like every thing else they will charge.

No the hack code doesn`t make any difference to the DVD other than playing all region disks, If you try it on another newish stereo tv, You`ll find it will play in colour.

What tv have you got, Make, Model.?

I dont have a sam-max-945d, but the samsung seem to have the same software embeded in them all. Put in a region 1 disk till it says it wont play disk

Eject disk with the remote control ( BUT LEAVE DISK IN THE TRAY ).
press the REPEAT key and enter 387671 and repeat key again.(region 1 )
enter them fast before it says load on front of display, if its like the new dvd combi the tray will start to close and will play the disk.

If it works, when you switch off the unit it will convert back to region 2.

no, your region 2 disks will play in colour cos your tv is receiving a pal signal, the zone 1 disk is ntsc. I dont have the 701 dvd in front of me, but if you look in the dvd setup menu, you might find a tv output select option, if so, set it to RGB.

URC7560 the code is 0539, or if its a URC4300 its 539.

1. Cold start the machine again and press 1 for english.
2. Wait for machine to boot up, (it says no disk on display).
3. Enter the following buttons as fast as you can. Repeat 387671 for region 1 or enter 387679 for multiregion. press open button on front of DVD, then press standby on your remote, press standby again to switch on .
