SAMSUNG SV-DVD1E COMBO PLAYER
I`ve followed the instructions to de-code my player but can`t get it to work. I get as far as the regional code `02` appearing briefly (after entering 3,8,7,6,7) - I press 9 on the remote, press Open button on player, press Standby on the remote - put a disc in but always get the same message that disc cannot be played. Evidently I am doing something wrong, though I can`t think what. Is there any other way to de-code players - what are chips? Wld appreciate any adivce. Tks

Switch on dvd and wait for the samsung logo,
then make sure the dvd-button is set to dvd on the player. and no disk inserted.
Now press and HOLD the"FF" and PAUSE/PLAY buttons on the dvd, after 5 seconds you will get menu on your tv screen asking you to pick a language, press 1 for english.
wait 5 seconds (until the samsung logo comes up on screen) press Setup then repeat ( bottom right hand button with a-b on it ).
Then enter 387679 press Open on front of DVD. then power off, power on with remote standby button.
put in a disk, it will now play.

tks fr your swift reply - I did as suggested but it still will not play region 1 disc - I`m going to ask someone else to follow the instructions as either a) I am doing something wrong or b) there is something different about my machine - i`m really cheesed off as the saleman in Dixons said it wld play dvd`s from all regions!
tks fr yr help - i`ll let you what happens.

Latest in this saga is that Dixons helpline (from whom I purchased this machine) said that it is multiregion and that I should return the machine as it is faulty!? I will do so tomorrow and see what happens.
