RE: Just one film that shows off your home cinema the best

Mark the difference being???
I am sure the sales reps with bumfluff Moustaches would do the same with, so Stereo is? and mono?

SAVE SAVE SAVE

If anyone here is thinking of buying a home cinema system (basic all inclusive packages) ie SONY SAVD300, Panasonic SCHT-80, Pioneer NS-DV55, JVC ???.
Always find the cheapest price on the Internet ie £545.00 for the NS-DV55 (in my case) then pop along to either Debenhams or Tyrell & Green (John Lewis Ptnrship). not only do the price match - Yes to the penny. But give you a free 2nd year Warranty. Bonus save- take out a debenhams account card and get 5% off your first purchase.
THE FULL SYSTEM FOR AN UNBELEIVABLE £517.75 (rrp £680 ish).

NOTE: Reputable dealers like this only sell region 2 players. But keep it for the 2 yr Warranty then get it chipped.

note: i posted this on two boards because it is retailer & hardware. Sorry if any one has already pointed this out.

RE: Just one film that shows off your home cinema the best

Toy story was v.good (just to change the subject a little). Esp. the petrol staion scene, big truck etc - bet that made the neighbours jump (how did i manage without a sub before?.
Also i hold my hand up to being very sad, i must have played the Dolby Train Sequence a dozen times - with a stupid grin.

ONE FOR THE ANORAKS

Can any one tell me the difference between these two Pioneer "home cinema" sytems.
NS-DV55 and the XV-DV55

The winner of this can wear the prestigeous *Golden Shower Anorak* all afternoon.

RE: Just one film that shows off your home cinema the best

I just knew everyone would have the old *GEM* to impress.
I thought Matrix would be up there but i am suprised that Toy Story is one.

Just one film that shows off your home cinema the best

What do you think is the film that shows off a dvd, and good sound system. ie if you wanted to convert someone to the wonders of dvd on your system what would you show??
Jurasic Park?
Saving Private Ryan?

RE: MULTI REGION

Jimbo,
The problem is that if i order my dvd from a dealer over the phone any problems will have to be dealt with by post ie 2 months without my dvd, + parts that need changing that are "normal wear and tear", thus i have to pay for it myself.
Why does the Aiwa 370rock? would you recommend this over my short list?

RE: Any point in me buying a DVD player?

what is dd 5.1/dts amp?
is that a good minimum to have ?

RE: MULTI REGION

Paul,
Still deceiding either Pioner XV-DV55, SonyDAVS300, or Panasonic SCHT80. I dont know which one to buy yet any recomms?. But whichever one should i pay to have it Multi region, or not?
I have spoken to some Dealers who will give it a one year warranty (not Manufacturers) which is proberly not worth the paper it is written on.

MULTI REGION

Is it worth having a DVD chipped to be multi-region, as it then invalidates the warranty?

starter home cinema Sony DAVS300 v PanasSCHT80 v PioneerNS-DV55

Please can anyone with knowledge help me, I am a complete Technophobe - i have trouble switching my pc on etc.
But at the weekend my hi fi broke and instead of buying a new system i was now thinking of getting one of the above systems ie CD+Radio+DVD+Great sound system - true or false.
And if true which one would you recommend?
at the moment i have a sony w/s tv so will the sony be better compatability wise?
Basically is this the best way forward?
