Liteon 5005 dvd recorder!! probs

Hiya!!

Just a quick question has anyone else had any problems with this machine on its lack of accepting discs to record on??

I`ve had the machine for over a year now and have used a variety of discs (sony/jvc/mrData/imagination/tdk/maxell) but all of a sudden it seems to not like discs!!?? I regularly clean the lens and can`t work out why!

Any advice?

Asda talking Dr Who mugs!!

The Missis treated me to two Dr Who talking mugs from Asda! Got me a Tardis one which was marked up £8.86 but when she got to the till it came up £4.43 so she ran back and got me the Dalek one!!
I was supossed to get it/them for Valentines but she was so pleased with her bargain she couldn`t wait!!

There great and well worth the money!

Dr Who Interactive Board Game!!!

Been into my Debenhams today and they had the Dr Who Electronic Interactive Board Game it was down to £21.00 (you`d get an additional 20% of that if you took out a store card) I must admit it may be cheaper elsewhere but it`s just a heads up to keep an eye as they had HUNDREDS of them all over the shop!! So i can envisage them in a week or so being dirt cheap!!!!!!!!!

For those who may find it handy the product code in Argos for the R/C Dalek is 369-0613 not the number that appears in the store catalogues!!

Also the Battle-packs number is 369-0644!!

The only other Dalek bargain i found was a single 5inch R/C Dalek in Woolworths at £17.99

Hmm typical they have just put it up to £450 today!!! cheek!
Anyhow can anyone advise if this Medion laptop is any good? My father has a very dated p.c and he was thinking of reverting to a laptop for space reasons too! He mainly only uses his p.c to keep his business info on (stock lists/order/sales etc) do you think this is a good idea/laptop for the money??

Its funny that such a well rounded actor like Mark Benton is only going to be known as `The Nationwide Man` is quite sad!! Thats type casting for you!!

As most people have already said it was very enjoyable family fun and me & my family will be tunning in for the next 12 weeks for sure!!

My only problem with it was that the `Autons` came out of it as `Mannequins on the Rampage` top 70`s villians used as an easy background villian for the first episode as there was so much else going on to pack into just 45mins,think that `Rose should have been an hour or hour fifteen??

Anyhow that`s me moaning as a WHO fan everyone else i`ve spoken too enjoyed it so thats what counts the public vote!!

Sounds like too many people just want to slag it off BUT keep using it all the same!? :/

Common sense (like someone has already mentioned) is what i use when buying stuff on Ebay and a little bit of trust maybe!? Not everyone out to rip you off!!

PS main reason for getting this 5005 was to save my collection and record the new series of a cult BBC sci-fi show (you know thw one) can you suggest a good quality DVD discs to buy to save these on?? not to worried price wise any suggestions?

Many thanks with earlier advice i finally got around to linking up my 5005 throught the Sky and it is fab and has been working fine!! same with your advice on recording your suggestions were spot on!! do you find recording through `Scart` source clearer??

Anyhow my problem now is trying to link my video recoder via it so i can copy all my old stuff to dvd!? But even with the manual i can`t seem to get a picture to record?? If possible can you do me an idiots guide of how i should have it set as like before im getting abit worse on the old technology front!!

Ok i was wondering if you had any advice on the following,im trying to hook mine up through my `Pace` Sky digital box but can`t seem to do it do you have any idea on how i should be going about it? Step by step idiots guide maybe :o)
I must admit to being abit lax on the technical front so may be missing something simple but any advice is handy!!

Hi I got mine at Index Bromley last week they had a couple in stock then! i also used an Argos 15% off promotional voucher (they accept these in Index!! cool!!) thus only cost £96!! pleased with is so far have not done any firm-ware changes yet tho!!
Anyone have nay opinions on what i wiil need firm-ware wise? i`m mainly gonna copy some old videos to DVD and tape the odd TV show to keep!!??

Hi! im new to this too and have just got a lite-on 5005 but i got mine at Index (number 565-326) if you can find one in your area it was down to £110 but i got mine for only £96 using an Argos discount voucher from a leaflet (they take these!!)
Good luck with it im currently about to try and hook mine up and sort out this firmwear stuff! :o)

please help!! trying to get my liteon 5005 linked via Sky digi box!

Anybody able to help,im a bit of a Spud when it comes to some Technology so when i recently bought a Liteon 5005 DVD recorder i set it up plugged it in and NOTHING but i set it via my Sky (Pace) digibox (just like my video was) i then did as the manual suggested and linked it just via the TV and got on ok it all seemed to work but the point is i want it linked via my SKY!! Am i just being a real idiot and missing something?? Anyone please help!!
