please help!! trying to get my liteon 5005 linked via Sky digi box!

Hello!! Anybody able to help,im a bit of a Spud when it comes to some Technology so when i recently bought a Liteon 5005 DVD recorder i set it up plugged it in and NOTHING but i set it via my Sky (Pace) digibox (just like my video was) i then did as the manual suggested and linked it just via the TV and got on ok it all seemed to work but the point is i want it linked via my SKY!! Am i just being a real idiot and missing something?? Anyone please help!!
