just been in to mvc in coventry and they have got video games on all formats(g/cube,x-box,ps2,game boy starting from £2,not many £2 titles but loads for £4 bought 5 x£2 titles just to trade in at game,also loads of contolers and other computer equipment from £2

And they were called ...?

sorry did not make a list but the five i got were ,haven,inspector gaget,vip,robot battlecry,and ben hur all on ps2,like i say not to play just good to trade in

Went to my local MVC (Newcastle) after work, only to find they`ve closed down! Oh dear! Hope this isn`t a sign of things to come for the rest of the chain.

I dont think Woolies have any plans to shut down the MVC chain yet, although Woolies look like they will be bought out or forced into a merger before then end of the year due to very poor trading results.

I heard a rumour by my mate that works there that MVC are being bought by Music Zone, which is why all the preowned stuff is being sold off cheap, cos they don`t want to be left with it

The store in Harrow also closed a few weeks agao, and now has `go to Woolworths instead` posters in the window... not good as the only MVC anywhere near me now is the smallish one on London Bridge.

yeah, a friend of mine works for mvc. they were told today to take no more customer orders, and the redundancy package details. looks like unless there`s a buyer mvc might disappear.

will let you know anything i hear.

hi, i work at mvc and we are not disappearing, someone has bought us and this is the reason why we are stopping orders, or not doing pre-owned, cant say who has bought us but they do not want alot of current stock instore

I work there too, and dead stock is being shifted to make the business more attractive to buyers. The part about redundancy details is total fiction.
