Page 1 of Psychonauts - a must buy
Gaming and Consoles Forum
Been playing this game the last week or so, and it`s brilliant. I`m not a fan of platformers generally, but this is great. I`m not going to explain the plot, but suffice to say the game is incredibly unique, and every level is vastly different. The game is very funny, with some well written scenes and dialogue, complimented by great graphics.
The game is the brainchild of Tim Shaffer - who made some of the greatest PC adventure games of all time (Full Throttle, Grim Fandango). If you`ve played any of his games before you`ll know what to expect! It`s got an average review of 90.4% on Gamerankingsand I can`t recommend it enough.
You will be able to get the game on Xbox or PC; I`ve been playing an import Xbox version and its ace. I just hope the game sells well because it really deserves to; it`s out on June 17th!

In that case, it`s doomed... >:(
"Gimme Ed til i`m dead!"
That`s cos it`s not being released till september at the very earliest, you can import it from www.gamestop.com if you really want to get it now
News on the European release here. Sounds like they almost weren`t going to release it over here for a second. Makes you sick when you think about some of the trash that line the shelves of local computer game retailers.
Might be worth importing on the PC, like TinnionA said, if you`re interested in getting it. If you`ve played any of Tim Schaffers games before, you won`t need too much persuading. ;)

Aye ,It`s a good game.I recommended it a post a few weeks back.I`ve got slightly confused near the start though: How do u get onto the island where the secret lab is?The monster throws u out of the water all the time? Do you need to get the oarsman badge?
Cheers
Yeah you need to use a boat to go over there - I can`t remember now but I think it`s to do with the oarsman badge like you say. Try doing a search on the net - I got stuck before on another part (the infamous `Milkman` level) and found out how to do it via a walkthrough.
Here`s Chucky!
Ok cheers.I`ll have another walk about and then check Gamefaqs.I just prefer getting tips from guys who are playing it at the present...........it seems a bit less like cheating somehow..... :)
This reminds me of a game called Furfighters on the Dreamcast (murdered on the PS2) which looked like a kids thing but had really clever level design. It remains one of my fave games. Also Dr Muto on the X-box is in a similar vein and pretty entertaining.
These games seem closest to the inspired Rare 64 games like Banjo and Kazooie and Jet Force Gemini.I`m hoping the soon to be released Conker game will be good stuff.
