RE: Oh My God!! - SCAN-dal

If Nelley promises to give you a free DVD or anything to make up for p***ing about with your order, don`t believe a word he says. He promised me a free disk before christmas to make up for the postage when I had to send a faulty player back, and despite countless e-mails I stil haven`t recieved the thing.

Crap customer services, crap DVD player, crap company.

Nelley,

I still haven`t received the Gladiotor DVD you promised me as a result of the trouble I had with my DVD player. I have sent several e-mails recently but to no avail. Can you please let me know if I am going to recieve this peace offering at all

RE: Pioneer DV 530 - Noisy disc mechanism

I have a DV-535 (same apart from the colour and the optical output) and the only kind of noise I get is the whirr from the motor. Have you tried more than one disk? If not try a CD or something.

RE: Oh no! My Scan has DIED

Nelley, I`m still waiting for the free DVD you promised me because of the postage I incurred (You didn`t mention drop and picks to me). What`s the hold up, or don`t I get one now that I`ve asked for a refund.

RE: Scan, no longer, letting me down.

I`m just awaiting a refund myself for a player I sent back, and i think I share the same sentiments as you (provided they don`t mess me about with the refund). I don`t blame Scan for the faulty player, it could happen to anyone, and although the lack of customer service is annoying, it is nearly christmas, and they seem to sort thing out in the end.

Techtronics for a Pioneer 535?

Now that Scan have promised me my money back (Hopefully I`ll get it soon), I`m thinking of ordering a Pioneer 535 (chipped) from Techtronics. Has anyone any experience of the player or the company, and if so, have you any recommendations?

Thanks

Judas

RE: FAO nelley RE:Scan customer services

Thank you for sending me my new shiny replacement DVD player today Scam......NOT! Never in my life have I been treat with such indifference by a company who were quite happy to take my money off me. Well I`ve had enough, I shall be e-mailing you nelley requesting my money back (I won`t even bother trying to ring your customer *support* line because I never get through). I know it is christmas rush, but I would have at least expexted a reply to my e-mails letting me know what is going on. I will say now to anyone else thinking of trusting Scam with their money, DON`T BOTHER. Go buy a Pioneer535 chipped from techtronics for £170, it`ll be less hassle.

A very p***ed off Judas

RE: FAO nelley RE:Scan customer services

Where the F@*! is my DVD player, I took today off work to wait in for the delivery, but nothing arrived.

If I haven`t got a player by tomorrow night (and it will have to be delivered to my work address as I have no holidays left), I will be demanding my money back

FAO nelley RE:Scan customer services

Nelley,

As I have stated in one of the other threads, I tried ringing your customer services department today. What is it with this *automated telephone system* you have? I got a message saying "Please key in the extension you require" (????????) "Or press star to list departments" (should say "Press star to have this message repeated to you") "Or hold for further options". So I held, and it said "Transferring you to the operator". Cue 2-3 minutes of music, only to be sent back to the start of the message. 20 minutes later, still in the loop.

When I returned my faulty DVD player to you, I enclosed a note asking someone to get in touch with me to let me know what was going on. That was over a week ago and no-one has contacted me yet, not even to let me know if you had received the faulty unit.

I tried e-mailing wesley as you suggested, but the e-mail he sent made no mention of my problem, just told me you were getting new units in today (although it didn`t say if I would be getting one), and informed me that the £17.80 postage costs I incurred would not be refunded.

I logged on today, hoping to have an e-mail arranging a replacement.....nope.....nothing.

So at the moment I have paid out over £200 pounds for a supposedly budget DVD player and I still don`t have a unit or even a promise of one. What galls me the most is that I could get a Pioneer 535 (chipped and with free postage) for less than that.

Could you please contact me, or get someone else to, to arrange a replacement (or a refund to get a Pioneer). I have colleagues who are anxious to see the outcome of my saga before taking the plunge themselves (as are the people reading this forum), so it is in your interest to ensure that things are resolved speedily.

Thank you

You can get my details from the e-mails I sent to you or wesley.

RE: Scan SC DVD 2000 Player / To buy or not to buy ?

Hello all,

I tried ringing Scan customer service this afternoon. I was on the phone for about an hour and I still didn`t get to talk to anybody, I just got caught up in a sodding loop in their *automated telephone system* and all I got was 50 minutes of some christmas album.

If nelley is reading this, were your staff on some kind of holiday today because they weren`t in a hurry to answer the phones? And could you get someone to contact me about my returned player, because I would like to know what is going on. You can get my returns number off the e-mails I`ve already sent to you.

RE: Scan SC DVD 2000 Player / To buy or not to buy ?

Hi pedro

I took the plunge and bought a Scan DVD player.

My experiences-

Player did everything OK, except play DVD`s. I had little white and black dots appearing all over the screen, and this got worse the longer the player was on for.

I contacted the man from Scan, he said send it back. This cost me a whopping £17.80 by registered post (as suggested by Scan customer service) and I have since been told by Wesley that I ain`t getting this money back.

I sent my player over a week ago, and Scan haven`t even contacted me to let me know thay received it, and despit e-mails to nelley and wesley, they still haven`t told me if they could replicate the problem.

I am going to ring Scan in a minute to see if they have the new batch in yet as promised, and if they are going to send me one. I`ll keep you posted.

Summary - If you want a budget DVD player, the Scan could end up costing you over £200. If you want customer service, forget it (they seem to forget about you once they have your money). If in a Victor Meldrew kind of way you love a good moan, trust Scan (they will certainly give you plenty of cause for that).
