anyone who buys the dark angel season 1 set from asda i sould suggest checking the dvds before you leave

i bought a sealed copy of season 1 and ended up with 2 sets of disks 3 and 4 - the first amaray case had disks 3 and 4 instead of disks 1 and 2

gonna take it back tomorrow so hoping asda alright in taking things back

i love this film and managed to find the video on a market stall a few years back in perfect condition and i still watch it from time to time

taped it off the tv when it was first shown then lost the tape so was pleased to see it on the stall for about £2.

would love to see a dvd with a docco on what the cast are doing now

this has been going on quite a while now

They usually have:

All star trek: TNG boxsets @ £34.99 which saved my life when amazon put them up
ER season 1 @ £19.99
smallville season 1 @ £24.99
six feet under season 1 @ £24.99

they are the main highlights for me - i guess it depends on the size of the store as to how much stock they have in

it appears to be nationwide - i had to go back to work at dinnertime to go and check the prices on play and amazon to check their prices to make sure it was a bargain

thought the price was a bit low when i first saw it but i bought it and am not complaining

better get the first season now

i had a similar problem with mine and in the end just got an action replay which gave me region free dvd playing and access to cheats and things

this has saved my life a few times like recently where my region 1 x files season 9 dvd boxset won`t play properly on my dvd player but plays nicely on my ps2

don`t think the turbo one has DTS on it while the original one does

otherwise it`s got bits about the sequel which looked crap and not worth bothering with

RE: Virgin selling `Kung Pow` rental disc?

i bought meet the parents from a woolworths once and was looking forward to the extras like the commentaries - stick the disk in and there`s no sign of any extra`s at all - thought i was going mad or just missing a menu link

just ended up taking it back and getting my money back - think the bird behind the counter didn`t really understand about the extras on a dvd disk and thought i was taking the urine

so just put it down to bad luck and get your money back

Think goodfellas is due out end of september - there was talk that a commentary track had been done by the bloke the book/film is based on - not sure if scorsese is involved on the chat track though but he is supposed to have had enxtensive input on the dvd!

Daredevil directors cut has i think been put back to 2005 (last time i read about it anyway)

RE: region 4

i think this will depend if the disk is dual encoded - some region 4 disks are encoded with region 2 (you will see 2,4 in the Region icon on the back of the packaging)

However if the disk is only encoded for region 4 then this will not play on your region 2 player no matter if it is PAL

have i made sense here ??????????????

i ordered season 1 of the x files a while back off them - if i remember correctly it was marked as a gift and did not have the full amount of the parcel cost on it

suprised it only took a week to arrive and was relieved no customs charges

However that was a couple on months back so hopefully someone will be able to answer your question who`s received a package from them more recently

think the only difference between r2 and r1 is that r2 has a DTS soundtrack - also i heard about some problem with a halo effect on the r1 version which by all accounts the r2 does not have

not that great in my woolies

think the only things i fancied getting were:

arnie action pack (last action hero/6th day) : £9.99
a beautiful mind £6.99
warhammer 40000 on ps2 £14.99
dinotopia 2 disk £7.99

other than that it was mostly budget stuff you could pick up elsewhere for the same price

disappointed but at least i saved myself from spending any money

think you have to go to virgin to redeem the offer though !

i wish they would just stick them in the paper like all the cd`s they are giving away at the minute

i don`t see why i should have to go to virgin/blockbuster/asda to get hold of free dvd`s

my nearest stores are all about 15 miles away and by the time you add up costs you may as well just order it online - usually the giveaways are all one episode affairs and it hardly seems worth the effort

don`t expect these til at least june - they are being released as amarays and not the same digipack case as the original releases came in so completists may not like it as they will not match

amazon are selling most of the current seasons for around £39.99 each so not that much more than the price you quote and in the original packaging-

i just need season 6 now and i`ll have 7 of them -

superb eyetoy ? looks a bit mediocre to me - games look like they`ll be good for about 5 seconds - i was tempted to get one but just know i`ll regret it - i`d rather buy a full season of x files dvds for £40.

i too prefer xbox over ps2 (no i`m not a fanboy or want to start a my console is better than your console debate) - games are better and xbox live is superb - just took me ages to get the ps2 network adapter working so i could play socom online - xbox live worked straight away but i was very frustrated getting the ps2 online capabilities to work -

you can sometimes pick this up for £17.99 so a couple of quid more isn`t too unreasonable

first film is a classic - 2nd is crap - 3rd is alright - haven`t watched the other 2 yet!

only the first film has any decent extras on it

The region 1 version is a lot better as you get all 6 films with it but you will have to pay around 40 - 50 quid to get that.

£4 a film isn`t bad value if you are a fan of the horror genre

I got it in one of the sales and have had no problems with it

It might be worth trying to get it swapped over (play are apparently quite good with returns) and see if a new disc helps

although to be honest i tried to watch it with the commentary and just fell asleep zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

[XBOX] Links 2004, Counterstrike £19.99 each

Hi

Can`t see this listed but i was in the stevenage branch of game today and
noticed that links 2004 and counterstrike had both been further reduced to
£19.99 each instead of £29.99.

I`ve been looking for both of these titles and nearly bought counterstrike
the other day for £34.99.

Not sure if it was a mistake or if it`s going nationwide but it may be worth
looking out for if you fancy either of these.

trouble is the rental version is just a single disk version - looked at the back of the box and no commentary or other extras worth mentioning.

I`m going to wait for either the dogs bollox 3 disk super duper version or wait for the 2 disk version to drop down to the £12.99 mark
