RE: Tesco Enters Tablet Market
Just got one of these for £90 (double sfaff csid[at]02% c/o the mrs). Ipad is too overpriced imo and what sold it for me was hdmi out ( simple but genius addition that a £700 ipad doesnt have) and blinkbox -just watched season 1 of breaking bad for £3 thanks to this and on my own tv thanks to that hdmi out.
RE: BBC Fraud and police gathering evidence
And don`t forget the 99 million they just wasted on an IT system that doesn`t work! Oh and don`t expect any sort of anti beeb solidarity on this forum Mike most of `em are pro BBCers. :(
LG BD 550 Blu Ray player hack
Anyone know of one? Much appreciated. _RFD
RE: Star Wars on Blu Ray 2011
Hmmm interesting.. ok a quick query for those who own a Hi Def reciever/amp ( that can encode DTS Master/ DD True Hi Def audio tracks): just watched ROTS and although I opted for the DTSMaster track on the set up menu the amp lit up DTS 5.1 only?? All the other movies lit up DTS Master. Just out of curiosity, those who don`t have a Hi Def amp - what is the default soundtrack? Is it just DTS 5.1?
RE: The Warriors (1979 film?)
Yeah, hardman war chief Swan ( Micheal Beck) went on and swapped his street fighting chops for dance moves in Xanadu !
RE: Pete Postlethwaite RIP
His performance in Jurassic Park 2 was the only saving grace of the film. R.I.P. Pete.
RE: The Survivors
It`s ok though Paull as the beeb recieves around 3 billion a year from the TV tax, ergo the money they wasted on this show (not the production itself but because of the way it was eventually outputted to the paying viewer) is a drop in the ocean to them.
RE: We Are ABout To Launch..........
Nice to see Gerry`s creations getting a little national recognition at last. Has he got an OBE yet? If not he deserves one for what he did for British childrens TV (Terrahawks and Space Precinct exepted of course). Personally I think he should be Sir Gerry!
RE: The original Bungle from Rainbow
Roy Skelton. He played Bungle and voiced K-9 and most of the old school Daleks(?) I`m sure Ras will confirm this.
RE: What does this esteemed forum think of this...
A scam, what a surprise! Ah well that answers a few questions I had. Cheers _RFD
What does this esteemed forum think of this...
Right, although not a `regular` * on here, I have lurked on this forum since the dark days** (7yrs 11 mths..or something- yes I remember the infamous `Nina` {please come back!}) soo.. don`t ignore this post (as tends to happen if your not in `the club`). I am not a spammer so the the link at the end of this post is not spam, I am just curious about the claims they make. (plus I think there has been a lack of decent discussion on this forum for some time - no ones fault.)
I am awhere of course of streaming technology so I know it`s possible -but - 450 global channels of streamed HD content? Hmmm. Am I not correct in thinking that (for e.g. Sky HD / Beeb HD and so forth) don`t actually stream the full 1080p industry standard? Isn`t it more 450/720 or at best 1080i? And , as you need an internet connection only,( unless you`ve got a mega BB connection) that much streamed data would surely cause picture freeze and other associated problems? I`m sure there are many other questions that can be thrown up so..discuss?................or not?

*as in not in the regular contributors club. ** when DVD was relatively new and shiny and exciting before the non event that is Blu Ray***(***TM Sony World Domination Corp.) came along to rip us all off again.

Kieren Scott R.I.P. dear friend.
No he wasn`t famous but defo worth a mention here as he was a great bloke and work mate. Loved by everyone who came into contact with him during his 38 years, Kieren died tragically on his way home from work on the 7th Dec. He suffered from a condition called Williams Syndrome and had been ill for quite some time tho he never took sick leave...he lived for the crack at work! He was due for some major ops, not the first he`d had in his life to try and put his heart right and a kidney transplant.
There were nearly 300 family, friends and workmates at the funeral last Monday mostly work mates who had worked with him in the 20yrs he`d been at Tesco.
We have organised a `Concert for Kieren` for the 10th Jan. with the blessing of his parents and there will be a collection on the night to add to the ongoing one at work with the Williams Foundation being the benefactor. There are already over 100 names down to come. It should be a great rockin` night to celebrate his short life and as he loved his rock music especially Iron Maiden, who he was due to see last Thurs at the M.E.N. Arena.
Good night and God bless dude!

RE: POLL: Disabled Parking use or abuse of
For the record...a bloke my age (40) whom I used to be mates with hasn`t worked for over twenty years. He is perfectly able bodied and always has been and yet..he has a car on disability and a blue badge. Sometimes he will walk about with a stick (but walks perfectly normal), most of the time he will walk about without it. The system can be abused and is being abused by those that know how. I know this is a very emmotive subject as there are a lot of disabled people on this forum and I for one plus the OP I`m sure are not having a go at anyone on here.RFD
