RE:

ITV are fricking terrible when it comes to movies , they are generally shown in pan and scan from old transfers , cut to shreds , many ad breaks and scenes cut for timeslot reasons.

But then if you want a good laugh , try and find thier version of the ultra violent `Robocop` which was shown cut at a evening slot a few years ago , its better than any comedy movie released recently. They also showed Beverly Hills Cop last night at 6.00pm , i missed it but bet it was a good laugh , if the dubbing in robocop was anything to go by.

RE: Kevin Smith Films

Mine is the criminally underated Mallrats , Jason Lee`s performance is oscar worthy and the line ` the guy looks like a date rapist ` directed towards Ben Afflecks charicter is one of the best lines in any of smith`s movies.

Clerks is my second best then chasing amy , didnt like Jay and Silent Bob Stike much at all , i think its much smarter to limit Jay and Silent Bob to cameo`s where they truely shine , instead of a whole film .

RE: Casino (10th Anniversary Edition)...

After picking casino up as part of the universal gangster box set with Carlitos way and Scarface earlier this year , i still cant make up my mind about it . I loved many scenes , it has fantastic acting and direction but theres iffy something about it . I think its ultimatly that it feels too much like its trying to reach the untouchable `goodfellas` . There are also certain scenes which felt like they were being shocking for the point of being shocking , whereas violent and brutal scenes in other scorsese films felt like they were justified.

maybe its just me , as many people love this film , i think ill have to give it a second watching as recently many films which i didnt really like on first viewing improved hugely on second.

RE: Futurama, best season??

After recently buying all the box sets , i would have to say i found series 3 to be the best overall , the worst series being 2 , cant explain why , theres just something iffy about 2 .

RE: The Godfather and other gangster films.

I agree with Handsome.b.wonderful , when i first saw Millers crossing i found it slowmoving and hard to follow , 2nd time it was excellent, and from then on,every time ive watched it , it gets better and better.

I find this with all of the Coen`s movies though , On first viewing they seem average , but they get better with each viewing, whereas most films i lose intrest with on multiple viewings .

RE: SHAUN OF THE DEAD

I also just saw it and it was brilliant , very very funny , and I always love to see a good british film , its quite a rare thing.

RE: I hate Dirty Dancing!!!! What`s your most hated film????

Pearl Harbor , The lord of the rings trilogy and i too saw the Godfather for the first time the other night on tv and i also thought it was extremly dull and over rated , there are far better 1930`s USA gangster films such as Millers Crossing.

RE: BBC best british sitcom

I recon that Richard Curtis was sitting at home with his phone on automatic redial , hoping that if the vicar of dibley was voted first , he might get another romatic comedy commissioned

``I love this job more than i love taffy , and im a man who enjoys his taffy``

BBC best british sitcom

How the hell did the vicar of dibley beat two of the funniest programs ever made (Fawlty towers & Dads Army) :o

The program is s***e and everybody knows that father ted should have been in its place in the top ten.

RE: Top 5 Unintelligent films

RE: Top 5 Intelligent Films

The matrix reloaded (understood 1&3 but the 2nd one confused me way too much)
2001
natural born killers
chester and pete
bon jemapple deux grois

RE: Top 5 Unintelligent films

You can add Jackass the movie and any adam sandler movie to that list.

Python special edition

does anyone know where the special edition of `Monty pythons the meaning of life` has gone ? It was supposed to be released on the 16th of febuary but it just dissapeared and no websites seem to list it as a upcoming release.

Also i found it funny that they quickly re-released the monty pythons the movies box set which features the barebones meaning of life , to see if they could sell anymore before the people notice a special edition .Maybe this isnt the reason why they re-released the box set , but i think it probobly was because companies are always trying to trick customers like that.

RE: New Family Guy Collection...Not Happy!

I know how you feel Jamie , im a huge family guy fan and this p***ed me off so much that i also sent fox an e-mail a few days ago suggesting an release of the extras disk for people who bought the seperate seasons.

Although i guess that fox is a scheming money grabbing company , so they wont want to do this because then no-one would buy the box set because most fans already own the seperate seasons and would therefore just buy the extras disk.

RE: Mafia on the PS2... any good?

On the PC Mafia is a fantastic game , one of the best , but NEVER under any circumstances buy the ps2 version. The graphics are awful , its like a ps1 game and it has a lot of the pc version cut from it. Trust me dont buy it , i cant wait to take it to trade in at game , its annoying me just sitting on my shelf.

RE: Favourite game 2003

My favorate game of the year is definatly Manhunt , which has a whole lot more to it then just some nice gore.Theres no other game that actually makes you tense and freaked while playing it , except from sven goran eriksons world cup challenge.

RE: Univited (leslie Grantham)

My god , they sell that ?

RE: Who`s bought a film for the packaging....?

I bought Robocop trilogy just for the first film and the classy packaging , but the two sequels were good coasters and great frisbees . I also got the book of the dead , instead of the cheaper basic evil dead dvd , cause it looked good.

RE: Could there be a new Jaws dvd on the way ?

A group commentry with some of the cast and crew would be nice , although mr spielberg never gets envolved with that sort of thing.

but lets just hope to god that they dont do somthing like add a CGI shark and turn it into a ultra remastered deluxe 4 hr version or something.

RE: Best film of the year!?!

I really enjoyed Matrix revolutions , but i seem to be the only person who did enjoy it without slagging it off or comparing it to the brilliant original . I also really enjoyed kill bill and Jackass the movie which really made me laugh my head off .

RE: Manhunt, anyone played this yet?

Its really good , its tense , scary and really violent (lets face it , thats why people want it)
and its got a good story too .

Could there be a new Jaws dvd on the way ?

Found this on the recently classified page of the BBFC , a jaws dvd menu :o , could this just be a re-release of the current dvd , or a special special ultra collectors edition re-release or somthing dumb like that.

The Meaning of life SE

Does anyone know when the 2 disk special edition of `Monty pythons the meaning of life`
is coming out in the UK .Looks like a great dvd , and is already out in the US damn it .

RE: EMPIRE Magazine - Is it the best?

WWW.MRQE.COM is a very good site for movie reviews as it is pretty much a film review search engine

RE: So, is this the last we`ll see of the Matrix? (may contain spoilers!)

I just got back from seeing this , and i really enjoyed it . It was much less confusing than reloaded and the action scenes were very well done especially the attack on zion.

I dont get why people keep saying this is a really bad film , it is much better than reloaded although nowhere near the original. It was also much less philisophical than the slow moving second film.

RE: matrix question (got a little confused)

Was it just me or did anyone else get confused while watching this , i mean i could follow matrix 1 , but this completly confused me.I was ok up to the bit in the restarunt with the french bloke , but when it got to the corridor with the key master and the architetct i was lost

So i seriously need to re-watch this , cause i also really enjoyed the action sequencies apart from the cgi which always looks fake (with some exeptions) :o
