RE: Poundland - DVD`s £1
I suspect its one of the missing numbers, no mention of Vol.5 on the 3 by Bela.
One more to add i found in Woolwich Branch today -
CE 069 The Cisco Kid . Volume Uno!---4 Classic Episodes.
As this is 069 its look like plenty more to come for those who prefer there films
with soundtracks that are more Variable Density than DTS.

RE: Streambox Ripper (a thread for you, clayts?)
Bearing in mind that Real does not support steambox ripper, the designers of steambox don`t support it any longer due to Real`s objection to it, i`m sure i read in some forum that steambox can`t handle this lastest version of realplayer, indeed Real
have designed it not to.
There is a way round it, apart from reinstalling an earlier version (?), but it was a bit too tech for me!
just did a search on google and found it.
A new version of RealPlayer has been released, RealPlayer 10.
After installing RealPlayer 10, StreamBox Ripper will no longer be able to convert files.
StreamBox Ripper may show this error message.
Decoding of the file requires external codec.
Please download & install G2 Player (www.real.com)
codec info (cook)
StreamBox Ripper needs the codec cook3260.dll Cooker G2 Audio Codec for RealAudio(tm) (32-bit).
Previous versions of RealPlayer or RealOne Player had this codec.
RealPlayer 10 also has this codec, but it is named cook.dll so StreamBox Ripper cannot find it.
Solution.
Open folder.
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Codecs
Right click on cook.dll and select Copy.
Then right click in that same folder and select Paste.
You will then have a file named Copy of cook.dll
Right click on Copy of cook.dll and select Rename.
Rename the file cook3260.dll
You will then have this codec named both ways.
cook.dll This is the one that RealPlayer 10 will use.
cook3260.dll This is the one that StreamBox Ripper will use to convert files to .mp3, .wav, .wma.
good luck with this.

RE: recording from NTL digital - can you programme vcr or dvd recorder to set the channel
Helo Sailor ,In NTL Digital if you wish to record more than one broadcast channel you set your recorder, tape or disc, to the times of the programmes you want, and put the recorder on whatever channel you use to watch your cablebox,
leaving the box on the first channel you want to record, you then use the programme Guide to select the other programmes on other channels you want, and press reminder, it will now change channels at that time,
At one time on NTL pressing reminder only gave a reminder on screen that the programme you wanted is about to start, you had to press something else (i`ve forgotten what !) , for it to change over, after an upgade of there display i though this had been removed ,until i read a posting that just enabling reminder did change channels.
The only problem may be that the infomation on the guide may not load for the time in advance you want to record.
If there is time between recordings its a good idea to switch the channel on a programme earlier than you want as there is an on screen reminder about the change over, and as i
find some programmes may start a little early , i don`t want the reminder covering the start of my programme, the voice of experience here !!
Usually nothing to interest me that i want to record these days, i find so little to interest me compared to a few years ago, still i can use the time plowing through all my old tapes as i put them on disc, but it seems to take ages , by the time i`m finished i`ll be drawing my old age pension ,( 56 ,at the moment!)
RE: MULTI REGION DVD PLAYER FOR £44.99
Sadly Amazon currently only seem to have 2 available , 1 new at £48, and 1 refurbished at £39.99, so it looks like a trip to Smiths.
Although i have a Cyberhome 400 , in size and spec this seems almost identical.
Although the Cyberhome generated much comment on various forums their has been almost , well not even almost!, comment about the Ronin !
I wanted another machine to use at work but wanted it to be small so i can hide it, in the snazzy Cooler bag i brought in poundland recently, when my manager comes round, wouldn`t want to give him the wrong impression that i spend all day watching DVD`s"!!
:D :D
RE: MULTI REGION DVD PLAYER FOR £44.99
£39.99 at W.H.Smith
RE: PowerProducer 1.0VE FREE
I used it last night to make a VCD of about 30+ photos and add a song ,probably whould have done it quicker if i had taken the time to read the instructions instead of guessing !! when i played it back in the preview window the sound of the music track i used was distorted , but i burned to disc anyway ,and on the disc the sound was O.K.
The thing i don`t like about these programmes is you can`t select all the photos in a file and load them at once.
Thanks to coverman , it s just the programme i needed. gerkey

RE: PowerProducer 1.0VE FREE
Me too ...thanks aberj6.
RE: PowerProducer 1.0VE FREE
Thank you to those who posted the above codes, it was worth a try, however neither code worked for me, i did sent a e-mail to Cyberlink , however the reply seems to be in some Japanese script, what i wanted to do was to find a free and easy way to take my Digital photos add music, and create a VCD with my CD-RW Drive that included the music added .
I can create picture discs that play on my DVD player, but they don`t replay the music that the computer does. gerry
RE: PowerProducer 1.0VE FREE
OK so i download it, and then find i need a release key to `open` it, go back fill in the survey, and still don`t get the key in the e-mail cyberlink send
RE: Poundland DVD+R

RE: DVD-Recorders are not compatible with Telewest Digital TV?
I have read a thread on Digitalspy Telewest use a Cable Box, Sa4000 that has copy protection built in , you must ask them to change your box to a Pace unit that does not have this problem. gerry
Below is copied from this site , (check cable, then broadband telewest forum)
Copy Protection still added by SA4000 box
The SA4000 software has been upgraded in Edinburgh this week but the box still adds CGMS (Digital) copy protection!
This means that recording BBC1 to a digital recorder (DVDR/HDD) is restricted.
(See thread <dvdr and tw> for background.)
Telewest have acknowledged that the SA4000 adds copy protection to it`s output (which I suspect must be CGMS).
Telewest have said it is not their policy to copy protect the standard channels that they broadcast, so this is seen as an error with the SA4000 and they are looking into a fix...
Three points are of concern to me:
As more people purchase DVD recorders this will become a bigger issue.
I don`t understand how Telewest managed to source the new SA4000 box without anyone realising it added Copy Protection! Maybe their unstated policy is to add Copy Protection in the future.
As the new firmware hasn`t switched off the Copy Protection I suspect this may be a hardware issue! Can any experts out there confirm if CGMS is added via a discrete chip in the SA4000 that would have to be bypassed?
I`ll chase Telewest for their latest statement on this issue...
In the meantime the solution is to swap for a Pace box, or get yourself one of these cables http://www.sonel.com/.

RE: MICO Espejo R311. DVD Recorder. I have one. First thoughts.
The first Packard Bell DVD+R i used didn`t play back what i recorded , any time i put this disc in it freezes the recorder, however i have since used another 4 OK, also about 20 Packard Bell DVD+RW with no trouble, since buying the Proline discs at Dixons ,thanks to who ever posted in bargains about the half price sale that was also BOGOF, i`ve used about 10 of each no problem, i did have a problem with a ARITA disc (used about 6 of these no problem), after recording 3 hours of continuous programmes on BBC4 the disc gave the message `Unrecognized Data`, i though that the problem may have been that i set the timer to excede 3 hours on the 3 hours recording time setting, i notice some one else has received this message on a disc they recorded on their Mico, (not sure it was on this forum as after a quick look back i couldn`t find that posting, however i have not read any more about this),
My thanks to the people who run this forum, and all of you who post your experences, i`ve learned a lot more about my recorder from this Thread , all we need now is to find the time to wade through our mountains of VHS and decide what to transfer and what to dump !!, and where to dump the redundant videos.
Let`s face it none of us want to record on VHS again, although there are times clashes
mean we have to, short of buying another DVD Recorder (but then why not, OK, its after Christmas and Mr. Barclay and his friends want their pound of flesh from us).
Maplins in their sale have those Cases that hold 144 CD`s in one holder for £7.49 ideal for storing DVD`s,(just one tip if you buy one, the holders are in a plastic bag and you have to put them on the case`s rings that the holders clip into yourself, however the holes although punched out the little circles of the material punched is still their ,also the pockets the discs go into have the top bits still attached so you need to remove them before you can put the discs in , so get a bin bag to do it in !!, saves having to sweep all this rubbish upl,) i just put the details on an index card to go with the disc, i originally intended to use those double DVD cases that Poundland sell at 6 for £1 !,but i think this is a nicer solution.
RE: MICO Espejo R311. DVD Recorder. I have one. First thoughts.

To shrekzx9, i had this problem see my post on page 3 , gerkey
RE: MICO Espejo R311. DVD Recorder. I have one. First thoughts.
On my Mico i first used Maxwell DVD+RW, 5 for 19.99 at HMV, then found Dixons have a pack of 10 Packard Bell DVD+RW for the same price !
I have had no problems using both of these at different speeds, and they play back in the Cyberhome 400 without finalising, handy to record to DVD+R, and then erase, to be honest i have yet to do this, but i`m sure they will.
I also brought a pack of 10 Packard Bell DVD+R in Dixons for 17.99, these are labeled on the carton as 120mins. The first one i used i tried at EP(4hr.) and it didn`t work ,
just did nothing when i tried to play back the recording, nothing, a wasted disc, i then used one at SP (120m) and it was O.K., i`m reluctant to retry it at a lower speed , i will use the rest to record my camcorder stuff at SP, and then avoid them.
I also ordered over the net from `Stuff For Computers` a spiral of 25 Arita Discs, which including shipping (£4.25), cost £25.99. So far i`ve used 4 of them at EP and no problems.
I was in Poundland during the week and brought 4 packs of 6 DVD cases each of which holds 2 Discs, however these tend to sell out quickly.!
RE: MICO Espejo R311. DVD Recorder. I have one. First thoughts.
All Mine does is displays a message saying ,`TV ON?` tried connecting it by scart, and by Aerial leads, nothing happens , no Menu on TV Screen, nothing in the manual tells you how to answer this question, the tray doen`t open when pressed, its just a lump of crap, back to Sainsburys with this junk
.
Having had more time to play around i used a scart with 3 phono to connected to the phono inputs on the front of my TV, it worked, after setting up i retried scart to scart and i`m now up and running, thank goodness!
I recorded on to a R+RW Disc and it played in my Cyberhome 400.
I played some region 1 O.K.,however for some reason it rejected a DVD from an American group called `Rascal Flatts`, the first time i tried to play it , just checked again and it played, however it will not copy any macrovision protected from the Cyberhome even though the picture does not distort ,which gives you the impression it is copying it , however it just records blank, in fact the recording menu will appear on screen , which it does not with normal recordings.
One thing i was not sure of before using it was would i have to record at SP for recording to play back on a standard player , however EP+ recordings played O.K.on my Cyberhome.

RE: Re NEW DOWNLOAD SITE !!!
The Film, Record and DVD business may be run by a bunch of crooked SOB`s,
but when their returns from these go down, and down, they will just invest their capital elsewhere, less music and films, make cinemas and record shops redundant.!
