Poundland - DVD`s £1

Andy Larkin (Competent) posted this on Thursday, 18th December 2003, 12:36

Film fans may want to check out Poundland who have a lot of DVD films for £1 (obviously). There`s a lot of straight to DVD dross in there of course but there are some classics worth having as well. I picked up My Man Godfrey, Kansas City Confidential plus the rare silent movie The Eagle with Rudolph Valentino. Also saw the Italian gorefest movie Anthropophagous (under a different title). You can`t really go wrong for a quid.

My Man Godfrey...is that the original with the mighty William Powell or the ropey remake?

I bought some Mitsubishi DVD-Rs in slim case. Say`s nothing about speed but they have all burnt at 4Xs.
Anybody know anything about them.

Mitsubishi = Verbatim. If they use the same dye as the DataLifePlus DVD-Rs, they`re well worth £1.

Just an update - I wouldn`t bother with those Mitsubishi DVD-Rs. They are definitely not the same as the Verbatim branded ones; the manufacturer ID doesn`t match, for one thing. They`re probably just cheap crap that`s been rebranded, rather than made by Mitsubishi themselves.

Anyway, my NEC ND-1300A refused to write to them, so they`re going in the bin! :(
