RE: Help! Need new player!

I really don`t rate the Toshiba players. My first a 210 broke down after 13 months (out of guarantee) and my immediate replacement a 220 wouldn`t play a lot of my dvdr discs. I know the Tosh is highly regarded but it doesn`t play a lot of stuff that the cheaper players seem to.
In the end i bought a cheap Cyberhome 528 from Richer sounds and i have not had a single disc it will not play. It doesn`t look as smart as the Tosh but the picture and sound are excellent. I bought it with the intention of taking it back if i didn`t like it, but having learned to live with it`s looks and throwing just about every type of disc at it including dvd-rw i have decided that, for me at least, it does a lot more than my previous two Toshes did and seems to be a lot more reliable.
Hope this is of some help

Cheers

RE: Man Utd 0.....Arsenal 2. Any plans to release DVD?

I am planning to release the DVD of this game in it`s entirety. It will be classified as a PG. Extra menus will include Hanson talking out of his arse as usual and boring the pants off anyone willing to listen. The opening few minutes are not for the faint hearted but the rest of the movie fails to folow this trend. The trailer for the impending release will state...You`ve seen the Exorsist, You`ve been terrified by the Evil Dead, You`ve s*** yaself at the Omen.....well now prepare to be put to sleep....By MAN UTD V ARSENAL,

This DVD will cost £1.00 ....paid by me to anyone that wants it..Lol.

RE: Sound for a pound?

Check out the Sony Bt-be1 system. Tiny speakers and a subwoofer with built in digital amp. Got mine for 200 notes and the sound is very impressive, The speaker size also appeased the misses.

RE: DVD player comparable to tosh 220 that plays DVD-RW

Why not take a few dvd-rw`s along to Richer sounds and arrange to try a few different players in their listening rooms. They are pretty accomodating and u usually have to arrange it with them first, but at least you know you`ll difinately get the player that you want. By the way a lot of players refuse to play anything burnt with Nero.
Hope this helps.

Cyberhome 528

I replaced my ageing and broken Toshiba 210 with the cheap cyberhome player and am really amazed at how good it is. It has played absolutely everything i have thrown at it..cd/cdrw/dvd-rw etc. My old Tosh used to struggle to play anything with the letters rw after it`s name. The picture and sound quality are amazing and played through my home cinema 5.1 setup it cannot be faulted. Ok, so it`s bulky and definately looks like a budget player, but wow...for under a ton i can`t complain. Would recommend one of these players for anyone looking for a cheap replacement or a second player for the bedroom. By the way it won`t play any backup DVD`s burnt with Nero...but neither will a lot of other players.

RE: Now Nero Won`t Work....

Personally i wouldn`t use Nero to back up Dvd`s. A lot of set top DVD players work with any other burning software APART from Nero. Try Recordmax...

Tosh Sd210

I used to love my old Toshiba 210 machine, lovely pic, great sound etc. But recently something went wrong with it and i bought a Cyberhome 528 as a replacement. Apart from it`s horible bulky looks the Cyberhome does a neat job, but i would still like to get my Tosh repaired for a minimal amount of drinking vouchers. Ok heres the prob, the display on the front of the machine has gone completely blank and there is no sound output apart from the digital coax. In other words the pics fine but no sound through either the analogue outputsd or the scart. Don`t know if this is connected with the front panel losing it`s display, but any help would be appreciated.

Cheers
