RE: Aldi have done it again..another great P.C
I found the modem better on mine than my last pc, there is a new driver for the tv card on the Medion site. (the modem is built into the tv card btw) that may help.
RE: Aldi have done it again..another great P.C
It may well be your next PC at Aldi USA , i bought the 8000 in Nov and its in the States now , i think you run 1 deal behind so to speak.
The only difference between the 2 is 256 more memory, DVD writer and different graphics card, i think the 8000 is going for silly money in the US , you might be better getting that and sticking a DVD burner in to it.

RE: Aldi have done it again..another great P.C
I got the 256 as my machine only came with 256, if you can afford it go fot the 512, its very easy to fit.
Just check that the new Aldi PC has one stick of 512 which i would think it would do, if so the new stick will fit into the slot besides the old ram.
If u get stuck give me a shout :)

I bought some for my Aldi PC from crucial its PC2700 DDR what you want, i would strongly avoid cheap generic ram the crucial memory works a treat.
use this link for 5% off http://www.crucial.com/uk/promo/index.asp?prog=webpromo

"Apparently, there`s going to be a better one coming out in two months, so I`d advise waiting until then."
There will always be another better one in a few months if you kept waiting you would never get a PC !
Andy_R i dont think you could get the same spec PC for £400 using the same parts, the DVD rewriter is around £200 on its own.

On PC startup press "Delete" button to get into bios settings
Highlight "Standard CMOS features" and press "enter"
Scroll down to "Drive A" and press "Enter" fron the list select "1.44" and press "Enter"
Press "Esc"
then select "Save + Exit setup" + "Y" to confirm.
Reboot PC and floppy should appear in "My Computer"
It took a bit of fiddling with mine to get it right try the cable on the floppy the other way around or the other connector.

RE: Aldi have done it again..another great P.C
I havent a clue about DVD disks , i do know that some brands dont work on some dvd players.
There is a good forum at http://www.disqworld.net loads of help on there on how to use software and what media works best.
RE: Aldi have done it again..another great P.C
I see what u mean about cables i actually bought mine from a local PC store, but i think this one should be ok "36349" as it round will be easier to use i had a flat one and was a right pain to fit.
The floppy code is "43087" the price has come down since i bought mine its only £5.87 + £1.17 for the cable £7.04 all in.
RE: Aldi have done it again..another great P.C
I bought the last Aldi pc which is identical looking, its easy to fit a floppy you just need the floppy and a floppy cable.
I bought a Black Pansonic floppy from Ebuyer £8 + £1.50 for a cable, very easy to fit.
If u want a hand give me a shout :)
RE: If this aint a bargain Ill eat my hat!
Click the spec link , on the box it says "microstar" these are made by Medion but are sold exclusively at PC World or Toys R Us.
RE: If this aint a bargain Ill eat my hat!
Its definately not the last Aldi PC as i have that :)
I think its a PC world one as its branded "Microstar" on the box, all aldi PC`s are branded "Medion"
RE: Gamecube with a free game and a memory card £78.99 from Argos!!!
Think about it there is no pirate software for the GC , there is for every other console DC/PS1/PS2/GBC/GBA/X BOX, they may be selling the cubes at cost but will get some money back from software as ther are no pirates available, i think its Ninty being clever.
RE: Cheap place to buy movies with `real` action
My mate says that site is cheap 10euro for a Ben Dover DVD, but he cant seem to find delivery prices though is it free ??
PS Another cheap site is www.erodvd.nl prices include delivery start at 7euro , so my mate says anyway :)
RE: Gameboy Advance - £49 in Argos
The one item to get for a GBA is a flashlinker + card :)
RE: 17
Finaly got mine today , cracking monitor for 100notes, made in the UK as well supporting the british workers :)
RE: 17
Grrr mine has arrived and its a 753s not 753DFX rang ebuyer twice now and when i get to around 2nd or 3re in the Q it gets hung up.
Went to return section to get a RMA and it says any problems are with Samsung, so have sent an E-Note just hope they pay to collect.
I am extremely p***ed off now, just check what you are getting if its wrong refuse delivery.
RE: 17
Mine has been dispached today got a dispach email from EBuyer so will be here tomorrow.
Trouble is the monitor is sold out and ebuyer wont save any item out of stock on an order so you have to wait until the monitor comes in stock before it is despached.
Even when it does if the memory goes out of stock then you will have to wait until it comes back in stock but the monitor may go out of stock ..................................
