RE: For all you people who say component is better than rgb

RGB has always been the best to use. Common sense really. Red, Green, Blue. The three primary colours of light. ;-p

RE: Aardman Classics

Hello!

None on the UK one.

But there is an easter egg:
On the main menu highlight Extras, then press UP 3 times, RIGHT 4 times, DOWN 2 times, LEFT 2 times.
It will then show a hidden animation `Angry Kid`.

RE: Any plans to release `Battlestar Galactica` and `Galactica 1980` on DVD????

Hello!

The begining feature length episode of Battlestar Galactica is out on DVD. It`s been out for ages.

The original TV Series was due out in mid 2002 on Region 4, but it is now due out mid 2003. No sign of it coming out on any other region that I can find.

Hope it helps.

RE: Help! - WMV to vcd

Hello!

I use Nero cd writing software.
Look at http://www.nero.com for a demo version.
Also there is a plug-in for nero so you can put a wmv file onto a vcd.

It works great. I`ve used it several times to do this.

RE: Can anyone recommend.....................

I`ve got the AEI DigiSender from Argos.

It`s sends good picture and sound.

The only probelm I`ve had is when the microwave oven is on. I get no sound apart from loud buzzing and a horizontal snowy bar that scrolls down the screen.

RE: Panasonic RV41 - stopped working - any ideas?

The error `H02` commonly occurs when there is a problem with the laser assy. Panasonic DVD players have suffered from laser assy problems from the very first model. They are well aware of the problem. If you do contact Panasonic, they should be able to help you. Most customers I dealt with that had this problem had a new laser assy paid for by Panasonic. You may get labour paid for aswell. It all depends on the person you speak to.

I worked in a workshop at a independant retailer in the Thames Valley until I was made redundant 2 months ago. This is how I know about it. The service manager and myself talked to Panasonic technical about problems like this alot.

Panasonic DVD players are good. It`s just the laser assys that let them down.

RE: Panasonic RV41 - stopped working - any ideas?

Hello!

If you contact Panasonic Customer Care on 08705 357357 and tell them of your problems, they probably will tell you were your local dealer/service centre is. Depending what Panasonic say, they may help you with the cost of repair e.g. cost of parts required or even pay for the full cost of repair. Make sure that you`ve still got your reciept as they may ask for the date of purchase.

RE: ooooh.. thats me told then...

I`ve had no problems with Movietyme.

The only complaint I`ve got is that on average it takes up to two weeks for an order to arrive from them.

Mind you, I haven`t tried cancelling an order.

RE: Mitsubishi DD-4030

Hello!

I don`t have the same DVD player as you. I have a Panasonic DVD recorder, but that doesn`t matter.

The main reason I here typing on my keyboard is to say that Mitsubishi no longer exist as an electronics company. They haven`t existed for about three years. There is only one place that you can get technical help, spares and accessories from:

SEME Ltd.
http://www.seme.co.uk
Sales tel no.: 01664 484000
Dedicated Mitubishi tel no.: 01280 826006

Mitsubishi sold all their spares to SEME when they closed down.
When the spares are all sold there will be no more. Their stocks are getting low of some parts, so it won`t be long before they have all gone.

Sorry for the bad news.

RE: Help me please!!!

Hello!

Try using CD-RW. I tried CD-R`s in my sistsers Panasonic DVD player and my parents Sony DVD player. It never played on either machine.
But when I tried CD-RW it worked fine.

I recomend that you don`t use cheap CD-RW though as they tend to suffer with errors. Go the the mid to high priced ones. I use Philips ones with no problems. I use them for audio, Video CD and Super Video CD burnt using Nero on the computer.

Hope this helps.

RE: Philips On Digital box problem?

Hello!

When Philips were still making these boxes, they sent out technical letters to all dealers. One was for the DTX6370. It says the following:

Procedure for resolving Sony TV conflict

To change the box from A to B follow this procedure:

1) Put the box into standby
2) Press and hold `M` button on the front of the box for at least 3 seconds until the front control panel displays `SA`.
3) Press the right ARROW button on the box to change the display from `SA` to `SB`.
4) Press the `S` button to complete the process.

The remote control now needs to be changed, follow this procedure:

1) On the box remote, press and hold the `standby` and `text` buttons for at least 5 seconds.
2) Using the number buttons, now enter a new digit code `161`

The Philips ONdigital unit and its remote are now programmed to use system B.

(Should the customer want to change their box and remote back to system A, the above steps should be repeated but the code entered into the remote should be 160.)

NOTE:

If there is more than a 10-second gap between the above sequence of button presses, the process needs to be started again from the begining. If after this procedure, your remote is without batteries for any longer than 1 minute, you may have to repeat the above process.

The reason I have told you this is that I beleve you or may have changed the mode on the remote control or the box by mistake without realizing that you`ve done it. Even if your box is not a DTX6370 I believe this process works for all Philips ONdigital boxes.

Hope it helps. If it doesn`t, your best resort my be to buy a new freeview box. The cost of a new remote control is almost as much as a new box!

RE: Daredevil and fraggle rock questions

Fraggle Rock is available on DVD in France. Sadly it only has a French soundtrack :-(

RE: RCE Hack for sony dvp 725

There isn`t any way of manualy changing the region on this dvd player that I know of. Every method of chipping requires a `chip` physicaly being fitted inside. The ones that I know of are automatic and don`t require manual selection, and they are RCE compatible. If your dvd player isn`t already `chipped`, try looking at www.techtronics.com. They collect your dvd player, `chip` it and return it to you.

You might like to know that while your dvd player is in standby, if you press Title, Clear then Power on your remote control will bring up the service mode. You then have the options on screen to run checks. Do NOT adjust any settings unless you know what you are doing. This can be done on the DVP-S715 aswell.

I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED THROUGH MISUSE.
