RE: ooh ooh ooh. dvd.co.uk emailed me about despatch of ROTK extended edition

I ordered a backup copy from CD WOW just incase DVD Soon`s went AWOL (it was shipped on 9th Dec so it was looking like it had) - lo-and-behold both arrived today and the CD WOW copy is North American, hence no French text. I think I`ll keep that one and try to offload the Canadian copy cheapish.

RE: USA SHIPPING

The last box set I received from DVDSoon was shipped on 18th November. I got a card in my door on 9th December telling me I had a parcel which had customs charges. Therefore, it had been 2 days from Canada to London and then 19 days from London to Northern Ireland. I wasn`t happy !!!

With regard to pre-orders, be aware that even though you may have paid less than £18 for something, it is the value of the goods when shipped that is printed on the parcel

Not so dvd_vicar - if you check this link you`ll see that I clearly asked the folks at DVD Soon about this and the response was very positive.

RE: Post Office got your DVD? Pinch it!

"posty" - do you deliver a lot of mail to wrong addresses by any chance ? I only ask because if you read addresses as badly as your grammar suggests then dear help anyone waiting for their mail.

If I can remember what I saw in the documentary you are referring to, never mind the credit card "incident" - what about the shoddy way mail was "treated" in the sorting offices - surely that can`t be condoned ?

RE: DVD Soon, are they ripping us off with their delayed dispatch

CD Wow don`t take your money at any stage - WorldPay do, and they take it at time of order.

RE: Leon Japanese R2 same as US R1 (International version)?

I just received the Korean version a few days ago from www.koreandvds.com - it contains 2 discs, 1 with the short version and the other with the extended version (20-odd minutes extra).

Lovely looking package - haven`t watched the extended version yet.

Total with shipping was about 20 US dollars

RE: Waltons Series 1 DVD Soon Vs DVD pacific

I just did a bit of checking for you.

DVD Pacific, using surface mail is £18.28 + £1.64 p&p = £19.92, using air mail is £18.28 + 3.29 p&p = £21.57

DVD Soon is £19.93 with free postage

As the set is over the £17.99/£18 threshold there is the distinct possibility that you will incur (sp?) additional Customs charges which may total as much as £10.

Sorry to put a dampener on this - but I`d say even with extra charges it`s more than likely to still be a lot cheaper than the R2 if and when it gets released

RE: CDWOW and customs charges

I wonder how much sales have dipped (if at all) for these non-UK sites.

I know I have a bunch of boxsets I want to buy but as most are not on R2 yet I`ve been holding off buying R1 because of the likely additional charges.

RE: Play / cd-wow customs charges?

If you want to buy R1 from Play, then it`s their PlayUSA site you need to use.

If you buy R1 stuff and the value is over £18 then there is a very good chance you`ll be charged customs. If you order R2 stuff from Play and it`s over £18 you will not be charged extra.

With CD Wow, TTBOMK, you run the risk of being charged for all regions if over £18.

I`m sure I`ll be corrected if anything above is inaccurate.

RE: Quantum Leap 1st series

Only trouble with pre-ordering at DVD Pacific (AFAIK) is that you don`t get charged until the goods ship - therefore when Quantum Leap is released the pound/dollar exchange might not be as consumer-friendly as it is now. I wouldn`t bank on the set costing £22 - but you never know !
