Just had a customs charge of £7.50 :o for a dvd from cdwow which was only worth 19.99. has this happened to anyone else recently, have CDWOW changed their shipping method, or is this an attempt at closing cdwow down?
any info anyone?

I also have had a £10.12 charge (£6.12 customs and £4.00 royal mail) for a £35.00 Buffy dvd box set. Still worked out cheaper though. hgv >:(

Bugger - just ordered the Sopranos series 4 a few days ago.
Have ordered series 2 and 3 in the past and never got hit by customs.
I received some lower priced DVDs a few days ago and it looked like the outer packaging had been opened and resealed.
Are Customs getting desperate?

Yes just got charged £7.50 for a Criterion disc.
Rang to inform them and they said they would credit me this time - but in the future the charge would stand. Looks like its back to DVDsoon.

Just to warn you, DVDSoon have been forced by our Customs people to put the true value of the goods on the packages now - no more 12 dollars no matter what`s inside.
This now means that anything over £17.99 from DVDSoon is "likely" to be hit with extra charges.

I wonder how much sales have dipped (if at all) for these non-UK sites.
I know I have a bunch of boxsets I want to buy but as most are not on R2 yet I`ve been holding off buying R1 because of the likely additional charges.
