RE: Disable Macrovision on all devices!!

You can also use the website:

http://www.sonel.com

A very good site for macrovision scart leads - also for DVD Recorders

RE: HELP WITH HACKING A PHILIPS DVDR 880

To do this hack you need a oneforall remote, you have to configure to work your DVDR880 (maybe need to update it via the oneforall website.....I did) then you do the following:

Press the MAGIC key
Input numbers 085
This should bring up the 9 dashes (if it doesn`t keep trying until it does)
type in 121 212 005 255
press the play key on original remote
`NO DISC` should show
turn off the DVD player for about 10 seconds
it should now be region free

I own a dvdr880 and it worked for me (after a lot of trying!) It doesn`t remove MACROVISION and I don`t think you can play all RCE discs (although I haven`t tried one myself)

If you do update the firmware in the future as I did to FF12g the DVD player remains region free.

Hope this works for you!

p.s if you do want to disable the macrovision go to www.sonel.com they do scart leads at reasonable prices whichwork for DVD recorders.

MACROVISION DISABLER-VHS to PHILIPS DVDR880

I want to back up my videos to DVD using my Philips DVDR880 but most of my tapes are copyright protected. Can anybody tell me where to get a macrovision disabler that is suitable with DVD recorders or if there is any known hack.

I have hacked the machine to be multi-region and I have also updated the firmware (to FF12g) but this hasn`t disabled the macrovision.

Thankyou to anybody with any suggestions.

RE: phillips dvd750 error

All you have to do is replace the last number with a 2 and it enables you to play region 2 discs. You can now swap between the 2 but the only problem is that it locks after 25 swaps!!
You can make the machine region free but you need a oneforall remote control. You have to configure the remote to work on your machine:

Press the MAGIC key
Type in 085
you will now see dashes come up on the display
type in 121 212 005 255
Pree PLAY on your DVD remote
The words "NO DISC" will show up
Turn off your DVD player and HEY PRESTO!!

its region free!

Hope it helps

Philips DVDR880- Firmware update

I have downloaded a firmware update for my DVDR880 (FF12g) but would like to know if it will wipe out me previously making the DVD region free..........................will I have to re-enter the codes etc or will the code stay in the machine? Does anyone know what the updated firmware does, are there any new features?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

PHILIPS DVDR880 - macro and rce?

I have enabled my machine to be region free using the oneforall remote and the 121 212 005 225 code.....can anyone tell me if this enables me to play RCE discs and whether the macro is now off?

many thanks to anyone who helps

RE: Region switching on Philips DVDR880

I had the same question a few months back and I found in two places on the net (can`t remember where now!) that IT IS TRUE! To solve this just make it region free. But you will need a oneforall remote. All you have to do is configure the remote to work on the DVD player. Press the MAGIC key followed by 085, then when the dashes appear (keep trying if they don`t appear) input the code 121 212 005 255 then press the play button on your DVD remote, turn the power off and HEY PRESTO.......region free. (believe me it works)

hope this helps

RE: Philips DVDR 890 problems

you need a oneforall6, i used one and it worked perfectly. Configure the remote control to work for the dvd player then press the MAGIC key followed by 085, the dashes (9 of them) should appear(if they don`t keep trying until they do) then input the code 121 212 005 255 and press play on the dvd remote and then switch the machine off.....hey presto - region free machine.

Trust me it works!

Hack for JVC TH9AR?

I`ve got a dvd dolby digital home theatre system (above) and would like to make it multi region...............any suggestions anyone?

RE: phillips dvdr980 remote hack. Help please !

the code for multi region is 121 212 005 255 but some say it only works with a oneforall remote.

RE: Philips dvd750 hack, one time hack?

Dunce, I`m glad it worked for you..............what oneforall are you using? What was the code to configure the remote? Didi you do it with the drawer open or did you leave it closed? Did you use the play 159 procedure cause I`ve seen it written somewhere that you use the oneforall press the MAGIC key then input 085 and this brings up the dashes on the machine.....do you know anything about this?

RE: Philips dvd750 hack, one time hack?

No, that is the code for region one only, to change back to region two the code is 121 212 005 002. But apparantly you can make it region free with this code 121 212 005 255 but I`ve tried it on my DVDR 880 and it hasn`t worked for me, even with a oneforall remote. You are also supposed to change the settings on the DVD from DVD recorder to DVD player in the remote control section. Try the code, reply if it works.

need region hack for APEX AD1100WB

Can anyone tell me a region hack for the above player? If not I will throw the cheap and nasty thing away!!

RE: Need region code for Phillips DVDR 890

I bought a oneforall6 from argos and tried to configure the control with the code 0539 but it didn`t work, I had to update the control from the internet. Once the control is configured do you just point the control at the DVD player press the MAGIC button and enter the code 085.....is that it? will the 9 dashes now appear? Does this work for the 880R?
Pauli672 - what oneforall are you using? cause some don`t have a DVD button....are you using the AUX...does it make a difference?

Can anyone help?

p.s I can hack from region one and then back to two etc but it won`t stay region free.

RE: Help needed for Phillips 890 DVDR

What if your video doesn`t have a video phono out. My video only has audio out L & R. If you use the scart to phono you still get the copyright protection.

RE: Philips DVDR-880 Multi Region Hack - HELP!

i`ve tried using the O4A to do the hack and it hasn`t worked. First of all the O4A didn`t even have the correct code for the DVD player....I had to download it from the Oneforall site. I can switch between regions using the relevant codes but it won`t stay region free. I`ve heard if you keep switching regions it locks after 25 swaps....is this true??

RE: Philips DVDR 880 - multiregion hack?!?

tried switching remote to dvd player and then using the one4all but still not working......is it true about locking after 25 swaps??

cheers

Philips DVDR 880 - multiregion hack?!?

I`ve tried the codes for the multiregion hack but it won`t let me make the dvd player region free, I have to keep swapping it using the relevant codes (Play 159 - 121 212 etc). I`ve even tried using a one4all6 remote.
I don`t really mind this although I would prefer not to have to but, I read on another site somewhere that after 25 swaps it locks on the last region......can anybody tell me if this is true or is it just myth?

Also has anybody got any advice on cracking the codes for region free..
