region hack not working on my Phillips DVDR 890

Hello

I have a philips 890 dvdr and ive just bought the one for all 6 to do the region hack, ive followed the philips 750 hack on this website, but i still only get 9 spaces instead of 12 to type in the region code
Iam following all the instructions, and god knows how many times ive tried out different variations, but i still get the same 9 digits!
Iam starting to think that my dvdr 890 is faulty, or is it me?
Any help would be much apprieciated.

It`s you......:-)))........Don`t worry, i`m jocking....:-))

That`s normal: you need to have 9 digits, but you have to enter the whole hack code to make it region free. It doesn`t matter if you can`t see the whole code on the display. It will work.

well,i`ve just succesfully region hacked the dvdr 890.what i did was changed the dvd remote control settings from recorder to player in the players menu settings and then using the phillips 750 hack that is mentioned on this site i used the oneforall remote and followed these instructions:
Configure your remote using the setup code 0539
Press the Magic button
Enter the code 085
The onscreen display should show 11 spaces like this: `-----------`
Using the number keys on your oneforalls remote control enter the code 121 212 005 255
Press the Play button on your DVD player`s remote control
The onscreen display should now show the words No Disc
Power off your DVD player, wait 10 seconds and then power back on
the player should now play both region one and region 2 discs.
hope this helps.

I bought a oneforall6 from argos and tried to configure the control with the code 0539 but it didn`t work, I had to update the control from the internet. Once the control is configured do you just point the control at the DVD player press the MAGIC button and enter the code 085.....is that it? will the 9 dashes now appear? Does this work for the 880R?
Pauli672 - what oneforall are you using? cause some don`t have a DVD button....are you using the AUX...does it make a difference?

Can anyone help?

p.s I can hack from region one and then back to two etc but it won`t stay region free.

did you finally manage to make your dvdr 890 region free?
if not,did you follow my (pauli672) info?
ie:change the dvd player remote control settings (on the menu screen) from dvd recorder to dvd player cause if you didn`t it wouldn`t let the oneforall remote work.by the way,i borrowed my mates oneforall 5 remote.i had loads of problems getting it to work until i changed the players settings.
once i did that i just followed the settings i have listed before and hey presto,it worked straight away.
fully multi-region (except rce discs).
keep at it,it does work!!!
hope that helps.
