RE: ONE FOR THE MODERATOR - PLAY 247

Personally, I have NEVER had a problem with Play247 .... 40 odd DVD`s ordered, ALL of them delivered within 4 days.

As for FutureEnt, I used them once and they were OK. I then read several damning reviews of them at http://www.thedvdfroums.com/ so I never used them again. They may get the disc to you - but if they don`t then the general consensus appears to be ... good luck !!!!

RE: advice on a sound system

Hi Andy,

Like you I have a Scan-SC2000. I have just received my Yamaha VS-10 system (£299 from http://www.leconcepts.com/) on the basis of a recommendation of someone at http://www.dvdforums.com/

It does 5.1 and DTS and has additional inputs for my VCR, TV, Ondigital box and/or PS2 (if I had one).

RE: Scan SC-2000 DVD Player - When can we expect a fix for the

Which Disney R2 DVDs did you have in mind ?

If Toy Story Ultimate Box set or Fantasia Box set are some of them, I thought that it was generally agreed that the DISCS were faulty and NOT the player (ie Scan) as dozens of players can`t play either of these discs ... BUT Disney are refusing to except any blame (despite the R1 version of BOTH discs working perfectly)

RE: Logix 3000 - Subtitles on & scan query

I have one of the early Scan 2000 machines (before the firmware was upgradable via a CD) which also had the `Subtitles On` by default problem.

In order to fix it I had to get a couple of chips from Scan and replace them in the machine

HTH

RE: The Ultimate Toy Box – leaves big kid very upset on Christmas Day

As far as I am aware ... the Region 1 version works perfectly on ALL players !!!

And these Hollywood companies, like Disney, expect people to stop buying R1 DVD`s and instead buy FAULTY R2 ones !!!

RE: Gladiator R2 Disc 2 problems

Apparently, according to www.dvdtimes.co.uk, it is only a problem on the 750. The 750S is meant to be fine.

RE: Regional Code Enhancement - What machines will work

The `plague` that means that some films (such as `The Patriot`) will NOT being playable on certain modified players due to extra protection.

Nilesh, is the news page on this site correct when it says the Scan SC-200 can cope with this new stuff ? I read somehwere that Scan have tested the Patriot on some of their chipped players and found it didn`t work. Did you test the Patriot on a SC-2000 ?

RE: Yelo 800 - Playback Hiccups

I think Nilseh was suggesting switching to Region 2 in order to try and solve your Blad problem.

RE: Surprise, surprise !!! The Yelo has the same problems as the Scan !!!

Hi Nilesh,

I have never really had any problems with my Scan machine. Maybe my TV isn`t the best model available but I have never had any of the `crappy` picture problems people like IronDuke mentioned.

Also, since I upgraded the firmware the machine has just got even better.

Surprise, surprise !!! The Yelo has the same problems as the Scan !!!

Have just read, on another forum, that the Yelo machine displays subtitles by default on all DVDs .... sound familiar.

It seems to me, therefore, that far from being a superior machine the Yelo is the SAME machine as the Scan (or at least based on the same hardware)
