Has anyone tried this yet http://www.hdloader.com/site.php?page=home ? Just ordered my network card from Play 17.99 already got a 120gb disk waiting. Im fed up with my kids scratching my few precious games so this is the ideal solution. Hopefully the ps2 card will be here tomorrow sp will post back with my findings

I`ve gone ahead and ordered the network adapter anyway. I have quite a few spare hard drives so I`ll give it a go. I`ve also managed to source a copy of the HDLoader CD that`s required ;)

Oops forget all about this post. Well to be honest I am having nothing but trouble. It took me ages to get the hard disk to be recognised by the software, then after looking at other forums found that you have to eject the software disk at a certain point to avoid the software freezing. Then once I got the disk in and intstalled a couple of games it wont play any of them. There seems to be a bit of a trend with this software. It either works fine first time and your laughing or you get nothing but problems. I am going to borrow someone elses hdloader software from work and see if its my version of the software and then decided wether or not to send mine back. There are plenty of other postings on the software here http://www.cdrom-guide.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=15
Oh well, ordered the network adapter and a proper copy of HDLoader (the ones I downloaded were crap). Already got a 40GB Maxtor drive sitting around so I`ll give that a go. Looks like I can try and format it on the PC (using some special program) and then use it in the PS2. I`ll let you know how I get on. Aparently there`s rumours that GTA4 will be using the PS2 hard drive, so it might be worth it anyway.

Finally got the network adapter delivered yesterday. I work in IT so was able to see whether a multitude of different hard drives would plug in to it, and they all did (IBM, Maxtor, Seagate)
Plugged the Maxtor 40GB drive into it, and fitted to the PS2. The HDLoader software immediately recognised the drive and formatted it (very quickly I might add). Then loaded on a copy of Tekken4 (took 30mins, a 4GB DVD).
Now it`s very quick on loading Tekken4 - and no messing about with DVDs.
My only gripe is that you cannot load PS1 games on there as well...as I still have a bunch of classics for that.
All in all, money well spent for me

Yep, got mine working fine now. Dont really know what was wrong at first but I have now got 14 games on the disk and they all play fine. Well worth the money.
