i found a firmware upgrade and used it but wheni put the cd in the dvd it comes up

boot disc then
booting.......
then goes onto standby

dunno if its supposed to or not??
got the upgrade from www.powerglitch.com

alba 114.....help it wont play cdr or dvdr

i have an alba 114 wich wont play dvdr or cdr but will play cdrw .....mosts posts on this player suggest that it plays everything...would the firmware flash sort this ?

i have an alba 108 from argos igot it a while back it has s video,digital audio out and optical out but it dont play vcd without the mentioned hacks

i downloaded 2 games they are .exe files ,but when i try to open them iget `not a valid win 32 application`.....are they just knackered?

just triedthe menu on my alba 108 i changed the coutry code to 11 and put a vcd in and itnearly played just for a second then came up incorrect format not much iknow but it might give some clever bugger an idea

whats the difference between svcd and vcd

whats the difference between svcd and vcd ,i had a reply from clayts telling me you can get 6 channel sound on svcd...is there any other difference .....does nero burn 6 channel sound,,,and do i sound dead thick

are these two players one and the same???
as the goto hack works on both players
and i beleive there is a permanent hack for the bush player
if anyone knows this hack or bush`s website ,please post it here
and ill try it on my alba player

so to get 5.1 channels do you have to rip the dvd differently or just burn it as as svcd .........either way any advice on suitable ripping or burning programs to use?

i got an alba 108 and the `goto` hack to play vcds usually works if you just keep the button pressed ,the remote might last longer too
also is the `digital audio out` output to get 5.1 sound through a theatre amp kit.....and am i correct in thinking you wont get anything more than stereo sound from a vcd (ripped from dvd)....
