i got an alba 108 and the `goto` hack to play vcds usually works if you just keep the button pressed ,the remote might last longer too also is the `digital audio out` output to get 5.1 sound through a theatre amp kit.....and am i correct in thinking you wont get anything more than stereo sound from a vcd (ripped from dvd)....

VCD = 2.0 channel stereo only SVCD = up to 5.1 channels

so to get 5.1 channels do you have to rip the dvd differently or just burn it as as svcd .........either way any advice on suitable ripping or burning programs to use?
