As a seller whose item gets purchased using the 20% off voucher, do they receive the final bid less 20% and paypal make up the difference or is it done some other way?

Thanks for the response.

No software came with the phone, it came with the lead and although the lead is not an official Sony lead the software is Sony. I take your point with the bluetooth idea but unfortunately the K500 doesn`t have it.

Advice needed on Sony Ericson K500i

I`ve just purchased a USB lead for my new K500i to enable me to download/upload to my phone. I got the lead from Ebay and whilst the drivers supplied and software loaded fine for some reason it`s not detecting the phone. Device manager indicates that the US lead is working correctly which leads me to assume the problem is at the other end i.e connection to the phone.

I`m a bit of a novice with mobiles and only had the K500 a few days. Should i have enabled something on the phone first? Also when trying to access WAP, orange World etc the phone cannot establish a connection. Could this be related?

Any help greatfully received.

keep pressing enter until you reach region 9
close the tray
turn the player off
turn it back on

Tosh SD240E dvd for under £50

Not a huge bargain but worth a look.

Richer Sounds have these advertised for £50 mulitregion but only instore. Of course when you get there they aint got any only more expensive models (£80 for a 330E!).

I spotted the same model in Tesco for £49.97 region 2. My last Tosh (SD330E) had to be flashed to get it multi region but this one can be made multi region via a simple handset hack.

Branded, multi region with progressive scan and component out for less than £50.

It looks like most stock is not on the website although I`ve just reserved a 14" tft monitor for £42.50 and there looks like a bargain HP photoprinter reduced from £140 to £37.50.

best cashback deal on mobiles?

My contract is up for renewal at the end of the month so I`m looking for the best cashback deal out there. Not bothered about functionality of the phone as long as it can fulfill its primary purpose.

I`ve used onestopphoneshop a few times and their current best cashback offer is £200 on orange on a £25 a month contract.

I`ve noticed there are some good deals on 3 but their cashback is not much.

Any other good deals out there?

Just installed my first nexus cart, the black one and it works fine. No messages, no telling me to bog off and use genuine Epsons, so for £12 for the set I`m happy.

dodgy picture on my tv

I purchased one of those Samsung 28" flat screens from Sky buy a few months ago and have started to notice a weird bending of the picture especially on dvd`s at the top of the screen.

The easiest way to describe it was when I was watching a rugby match the other night the uprights were not exactly umm upright. More bendy than upright.

Any ideas?

Sorry Jimbo but i think you`re getting the R200 confused cos it takes six separate ink tanks and has a direct cd/dvd loading tray. As originally stated the R200 is the same printer as the R300 but without the card reader.

I was lucky to get mine for £59 from PC world about six weeks ago before they changed the price again and i can assure you having printed my 25th dvd last night that this is a top notch printer. With replacement carts now available for around £12 a set delivered, it`s good value too.

firmware upgrade for LG dvd burner

Can anyone recommend where to get a firmware upgrade for an LG dvd burner model GSA4082BB. I also need to make it region free, it`s currently saying i have four more region changes before it locks. Is their a separate firmware upgrade for this?

Sorry Dude but you are incorrect where the cable modem is concerned. It can either be connected via ethernet or USB but most people would tell you not to go down the USB route as it is too unreliable, Only used USB for one week and got constantly disconnected, pc runs slower too. With ethernet not been cut off once in two years.

Not sure how you connect set top box as never used it for bb only tv.

how about a nice shiney new case. Get one with a nice window and add some LED fans.Swap the flat IDE cables for slim round ones to improve airflow.

I`ve assumed that the spec you mentioned was for a self build.

windows 98 key lost

I`ve lost the key to Win 98 cd and have already dumped the contents of my HDD so can`t reinstall win 98.

Does anyone know of a way out of this?

No it`s not. The website is not reliable. I`ve spoken to them three times in the last few days as my 28" Sammy developed a fault after 3 months. Their only initial suggestion was to collect and refund but when I pressed them they said they would refund the cost of repair as long as it wasn`t too high!!

I pointed out that the 28" Sammy at £200 was still showing in stock but was told that is wrong as they`ve been out of stock for a while now and definitely won`t be getting any more

It`s got AV and S-video connectors on the side and a scart at the back.

This is my first tft so I haven`t got much to compare it with but first impressions are good. I haven`t given the tv much use yet as I`ve only got a poor quality indoor aerial to use but what i could see looked okay. It`s got a good range of pre sets for both pc use and tv use i.e text, entertainment, internet plus a custom setting.

To be honest i was looking for a 17" monitor but the chance to get a combined monitor and tv for £199 was too good an opportunity to miss even if it is 15" (it`s the same size as my old 17" CRT anyway)

Sammy 15" TFT/LCD tv

I`ve just picked up a 15" Samsung SM510MP tft monitor for £199, which may not sound that good a deal but it also has a built in tv tuner, speakers and comes with teletext and remote control. Has both pc connections and standard tv connections so can be used as a stand alone tv.

It`s on Dixons website, but is not available in all areas. I got mine from PC World who still have it priced at £299 but they price matched at £199. Bargain I think.

NTL problems with digital tv

I`m getting problems with my picture through my digibox, specifically most of the `sky` channels seem not to be in widescreen anymore. The five standard channels are fine, full widescreen, so I don`t think it`s my tv (only bought about two months ago).

I had the same problem two weeks ago and got on the phone to their technical support line. Whilst I was in the process of describing the problem it seemed to correct itself before my eyes doubting whether I had jumped the gun and was seeing things that weren`t there. Now it`s happened again and of course because it`s the weekend NTL are closed (great service!!!). I know that not all channels broadcast in widescreen as I`ve always had this problem with Scuzz but now it seems like all channels except the standard five are suffering from the same problem.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this or am I losing my marbles??

Get your spare batteries on ebay I spent $13 (inc postage) on a spare battery for my Canon MV700 which would have cost over £50 had I bought a genuine Canon. I`ve used it a couple of times and it seems to work perfectly.

I seem to be the only one with the RGB problem. I`ve had digital again for about 5 years and this is my second box. I`ve spoken to their unhelpful technical support line a number of times and each time they direct me to the menu where they say you can either choose RGB or composite feed and each time I tell them mine has two option but it`s only S-video or composite, no sign of RGB. They seem puzzled every time but cannot offer a solution.

Maybe I should insist on a box change, it is getting on a bit. Thankfully my broadband goes through a separate cable modem, couldn`t put up with rebooting it every morning.

Got mine plus £50 from onestopphoneshop so £275 in one day. I`ve switched to your plan 45 for £15. Seemed the best option for me.

for that price it`s a steal. I bought the 28inch Sammy back in March for £199 and got the WS28M64NS which is flatscreen Nicam. The 32 inch VS model is the virtual dolby version. For an extra £50 this is a huge bargain (wishing I`d waited now, but at least I got my bargain from Skybuy after only two weeks whereas some people still haven`t had theirs yet!)
