RE: Strange Xmas presents anyone?

I received a nail file, a blue plastic egg-cup and a 2nd-hand book from the local library " The History of Salt". What depresses me most of all is that I am quite enjoying the book.

RE: Blockbuster DVD rental by post, free one month trial!

Here are my thoughts on the blockbuster free trial. I built a list of slightly off the wall dvd`s with a few mainstream ones on the end - all from their stock.I recieved the mainstream ones first. They were all uniformly filthy and scratched. I sent `em all back on a saturday morning and had e-mails on the following thursdat/friday saying they had recieved them. then they sent out new stuff from the bottom of my list which arrived on the following monday/tuesday - thats over a week for a turnaround!
Still sitting in my list at no 1 to 5 are the following
L.I.E.
Repo man
Ferris Bueller
Brazil
El Mariachi
I despair at getting any of these, and I`m beginning to wonder what the point of being asked to build a list is if they can`t fulfill it. I have learnt a lot from this exercise and non of it reflect well on Blockbusters postal service.

RE: Tchibo speakers and dolby decoder

Whats sarcastic about that? The clues in the title - as in who wrote Beethovens 5th......er............Beethoven!

RE: Panasonic E50 - £237!!

Hmmmm... I just paid Richer sounds £249.00 for a multi-region one of these AND I had to produce a newspaper add from RS advertising it nationally at that price to get it down from £349.00... usually an indication that the price is due to fall through the floor and they`ll be given away free with weetos soon... and I thought I`d bagged a bargain. This sensation lasted 3 whole days. Bah Humbug.

RE: DMR E50 `Direct TV`

Well, I can`t answer your query, But I would love to know if you think this machine is any good, as I am thinking of getting one. Did you find a way of making it region free? if so - how?

RE: Help with a Blaster worm virus problem!

If your running windows xp try resetting to a point prior to the infection using the nifty reset feature found on the start menu.

RE: XP booting up time - what have I done!!?

But... This is xp .....once you have booted it up even if it takes 3 minutes or whatever, as long as you can get into it you can use its nifty reset feature, where you can reset everything to a time before you mucked it up. Go to start and you should see a feature called reset, it comes up with a calendar and you pick the point you want to go back to. Bingo! God bless xp and all who sail in her.

RE: Aldi have done it again..another great P.C

1.2 gigs! I dream of having 1.2 gigs! I have Ryan Gigs and he can`t remember anything...

Power dvd software on XP

This must be crackable- the software on my xp pc will only play region2, all the sites for cracks seem to be german and inconprehensible, and this sites faq`s refer you to a site that is up for sale and therefore u/s. This must be really simple...or should I be looking for anew piece of dvd playing software that is already region free? Advice please....

RE: My free Fox DVD just dropped through the letter box this morning.

Fox have renamed me `Anthoney Powell` but after three months wait I have TFM! Much joy... So, Mr Powell, what did they call you?

RE: CHEAP Xbox

Go to Dixons with any ancient games console - even from the seventies, (get one from a charity shop) and they will sell you an x-box for £128.90.

RE: ARGOS-DVD player and cinema stuff for Half price or less!

There not in stock. All sold out the morning of the sale. And the reviews for the dvd player were horrendous -"Sony should be facing a class action for selling this piece of garbage" type thing.
So don`t feel too bad at missing out...

RE: Best DVD player for £80?

£80 too cheap - spend £99 and get the Dansai from Tesco. Its got 5.1outs, optical and s-video, and its easy to hack to multiregion via the remote. The hack isn`t on here though, I found it at the Dansai site!
It`s got zoom and trick play and all in all is much more satisfying than the top level Sony I was given a year or so ago. Its also v slim and silver. Enjoy.

Another Samsung brainteaser..

Bought a Samsung DVD1E combined vcr &dvd - should be easy to hack but the one I found on this site gives me no joy. It does nothing. It is an ex-hack.
Be grateful for any new input...

Final Fantasy - cheap

Walked into my local Blockbuster last night and they are selling off ex-rental copies of FF at £12.49. Two discs. Seems like a bargain to me.

RE: Favourite Easter Egg

How do I find the egg on x men? I have about 40 DVd`s, understand the concept of Easter eggs, but have never seen one, or know how to go about finding them. tutorial, please.

RE: 2 for 25 at smiths

The Ealing store is doing buy one get 2nd half price - and there prices are at the top end of the scale - so have I missed the buy one get one free business? I also tried attacking my local Asda with the print outs of The Mummy box set @ £4.99. They didnt know what on earth the Asda price promise was, and said they`d phone me with head offices decision when I pressed the point. They didn`t of course. As for PC World _ the Brentford store still has some copies of MI 2. They want £9.99 for them - I thought theyd cleared everything out at £3.99?
