I would appreciate any help I can get..
the problem... I have a problem with my P.C ( I am a complete novice )
I recently moved house and since setting up the computer its gone wrong.
I cant access my email- what I mean is the computer wont allow me to view any pop up windows, or follow any links within a site, or view pictures by clicking on links like ` read more` or follow link xyz !
What I get is a blank box on my screen with the microsoft banner across the top !
I have downloaded every type of flash programme going but this doesnt help.
I hope someone can help as Im at a loss now

Is it possible to use my normal printer to print images/text on to acetate sheets or do you need something special to do it ??

MP3 Help me please !!!

My dvd player will play mp3`s I also know it is possible to put up to 10hrs of music on one disc and my player will accept this ( says something in the manual about it ).

BUT !!!!! How do i do it ??? Using my burning software ( Nero ) I can only get about 12-14 tracks on a 70min disc ( depending on the track length )
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG ?????

Tea-break Teaser - figure this one out !!

Three guys in a hotel call room service and order 2 large pizzas.
The delivery boy brings them with a bill for exactly £30. Each guy gives him a £10 note and he leaves.
Thats fact !

When he hands the £30 to the cashier, he is told a mistake was made.
The bill was only £25, not £30. The cashier gives the delivery boy five £1 coins and tells him to take it back to the 3 guys who ordered the pizza.
Thats fact !

On the way back to their room, the delivery boy has a thought. These guys didnt give him a tip. He figures that since there is no way to split £5 evenly three ways, that he will keep £2 for himself and give them back £3.

OK ? So far so good !!!

He knocks on the door and one fellow answers. He explains the mix up in the bill and hands the guy £3 and departs with his £2 tip.

Now the fun begins !!!

Not quite ! Answer this :

Each of the guys originally gave £10 each
They got back £1 each in change.
That means they paid £9 each, which times three is £27.
The delivery boy kept £2 for a tip.
£27 + £2 equals £29.

WHERE THE HECK IS THE OTHER POUND ???????????????????????

Have fun with this guys , it caused great debate down the pub and after a few more beers it got even more complicated. Of course the answer`s easy !!

this may sound crafty but the polite people in Preston`s Sainsburys did this deal for me. I took my LOTR 2 disc edition back stating I actually wanted the 4 disc version. They refunded the £18 for me and then rang in the £24.99 disc. This means I got two discs for £32 or £16 each not bad I think. Or one for £12.50 and LOTR4Disc for £19.50 ( a bargain either way if you`re having trouble with the 2 for 25.
p.s. the Preston store is very well stocked with all top 40 titles, and there were no quibbles or quarrels. They are stocking the 4 disc version in a seperate display stand ( probably to avoid putting it in the chart at all )
Overall Im impressed with sainsburys as they even let me use reward points towards the purchase thus reducing the price even further and I didn`t even need a receipt !!!!

sub woofers ??

if i add a subwoofer only to my nicam tv and dvd player set up what will the effect be ? do i need to bother ??

what do i need ??

i have a nicam stereo tv and dvd player ( with dolby digital playback (digital output) what do i need to buy to obtain the full movie effect sound thing everyone talks about. The instruction booklet mentions something about a sub woofer and that i "must apply a dolby pro logic coded input to the tv" !!!! Where do i get it from and whats the most functional/cheapest around. Many thanks to anyone who can help.

Yes firemen deserve more money, yes we all deserve more money dont we ??
As for putting your life on the line, ask any number of nurses working on the wards or in the A+E department about the increase in violence experienced. I was recently attacked at work by a drunk, no compensation for me, the police asked if I wanted to press charges, but in the same breath said it would mean more paperwork for them. Unsocial pay ? 30% extra on the hours worked on sat/sun/and nights thats all.
Im not moaning I like my work, I know what to expect, its part and parcel of the job.
Also nurses are professionals !!!
I just think if firemen get more money then all public service personnel should get like treatment.
9/11 ? It wasnt just firemen you know, also doctors,ambulance,nurses etc, they all did a worthy job. If firemen walk out they could always do what they did to the NHS, recruit from overseas, indian,spanish,filipino firemen ? They never grumble about the hours or pay....

Im a ward manager ( read Sister ) and have 24hr responsibility for my patients and staff, my own budget to keep too and having to keep my knowledge up to date. 10 yrs experience, 3 at university ....
£30,000 a year ? My arse I get just under £20,000. Wheres my 40% pay rise ? Tell you what I`ll go on strike !!! Come to think about it the lad in McDonalds earns only £4.20 an hour think I might tell him to go on strike, and the local paperboy... where does it end ??? Next year it will be someone isnt happy we want a 50% increase.......

TV NOISE PROBLEMS

Can someone help me out. I have my dvd player and vcr connected to my television via a scart switch thing. The only problem is when I watch a dvd I get the T.V sound coming through at the quiet bits. Not good when you watch an intense film and all you hear is bloody Eastenders !!!
Anyone know a solution ???

right what i did was delete the peer to peer sharing programmes, saving any downloaded files to disc. Then used my Mcafee virus software shredder and clean lite scanned my whole system, shredding everything. then reinstalled any programmes i needed .. Hey presto no further problems. I wonder if it was a memory problem ? perhaps i was over full ??

Have narrowed it down to this one file at the moment.
am with bt broadband not aol.
yes it is windows xp.
Also using IMESH... get messages such as ` unspecified error` or `address violation` occassionally.
Have sent reports to microsoft now and again, I have never been contacted by them though... how does that work ??

My PC keeps shutting down !! When using Word,or Outlook etc just get the message " we have encountered a problem and need to shut down " Do you want to send a report ?

Also when using internet get the message "... Line error do you wish to de-bug " ?

I cant access certain folders without the computer shutting down !!!

Have got virus scan and firewall, neither have found a problem, occassionally get the message " new tear attack encountered "

Can you offer any advice or is it a job for the professionals. The PC is only a few months old so is still under warrenty I think.

Can some one help me ? My Mustek 520 plays everything thrown at it, mp3, dvd, cd , Cd-R , RCE, multi region
everything that is except Cd-Rw ( high speed 4-10X compatible ) any advice ??
p.s It can play cd-rw as have used others.
