"a very big chance of St Totteringhams Day returning."

We'll see. :-)

RE: [VIDEO] Arsenal: 2019/2020

"Possibly a little early as we may yet ruin your season."

Nah, didn't happen!

RE: After Life

Agreed, it's sensational. I preferred the first series but the second is also very good.

The breast-milk rice pudding scene: I was actually choking with laughter.

RE: Linking an original PlayStation to a new TV

Thanks Robee. What's one of those then?

RE: Linking an original PlayStation to a new TV

Thanks admars. Picture is not great - understandable - but the problem is the controllers are not that responsive.

My son is now trying to pass his licence on Gran Turismo and then I'm going to crack on with classic Space Invaders.

RE: Linking an original PlayStation to a new TV

I'll let you know how I get on. Really appreciate your help.

RE: Linking an original PlayStation to a new TV

Thanks for the response, admars.

It's model SCPH-7502.

Mine has a parallel I/O, a serial I/O, and an AV multi out. I've also just found an RFU adapter that fits the AV multi out port (exactly the same adapter as this one:

I've also got a 1mb (!) memory card in memory slot 1.

No scart on my TV. Here's a pic of the connections:

Does that help?

Linking an original PlayStation to a new TV

Was clearing out the garage yesterday and came across my old PS1 with assorted games. All that's in there with it is the power cable.

I've got an LG 65UK6750PLD ( with various free USB and HDMI ports, along with the coloured component AV-in ports.

Was hoping that someone could kindly let me know what cables I'd need to set up the PS1 on the TV and also if the picture quality would be good enough on a TV this size?

Thanks in advance.

RE: [VIDEO] Coronavirus, anyone starting to get worried?

"Am I the only one not buying this?
Yes he had it and yes he was in ICU where he said he was chatting to his nurses.
He was out again pretty damned quick so personally I think he's laying it on quite a bit."

This did cross my mind but I can't see there's any way that he'd be able to get away with it. Surely enough people in the hospital would know his true condition and a whistle blower would, er, blow the whistle?

Elon Musk's Starlink satellites

So who saw them?

Looked pretty spectacular from Essex tonight. A train of fast-moving bright lights going across the sky. Currently around 360 up there with plans for 42,000 in total! Concerns that they will begin to block out the sky for observation purposes.

RE: [VIDEO] Coping with the lockdown

My record is 525 and I did that in the school playground with loads of fellow pupils trying to put me off!

Actually, it's a great idea to dust off the football and get cracking again after all these years, especially as I have a son who is fast catching up with my record!

RE: Coping with the lockdown

Sheds definitely seem to be a theme on here.

I  knocked my decrepid old thing down last week, forgetting that we had power running from the house for an old neon light in the shed roof and then on to the garage out back. So knocking it down ended up costing me £200 as we had to get a sparky out to bypass the shed but retain the supply running to the garage.

We also took the plunge and forked out on a full-size table-tennis table that we can wheel out of the garage on sunny days, which has already provided plenty of fun.

RE: Whats happened since you joined? 18 years today...

9th January 2002.

Two kids, moved house and Spurs are still (unfortunately) rubbish.

RE: The Premier league 2019/2020

You lot won't be laughing when we lift the CL trophy in Istanbul in May...

RE: HBO 2020

I've watched the first two of His Dark Materials and am very impressed by the whole thing. Great production values and some excellent performances from the two main female leads.

This looks awesome.

Very silly question...

How do I subscribe to Apple TV+ (the new Apple subscription service)? Or, more pertinently, how would I watch it on my telly?

RE: [VIDEO] Paracetamol shortage

In Boots? I bought two packs of ibuprofen in there over the weekend using self-serve and it went through fine. Or is it different for paracetamol?

RE: [VIDEO] Paracetamol shortage

Should have gone to self-service!

RE: Paracetamol shortage

Yep, I've noticed this as well. For the last six or so weeks, my local Tesco as well as the one I shop at in the city have been clean out of both of the own brand para /ibu tablets.

RE: The Premier league 2019/2020

I might have a little dabble in the gooners thread again this year depending, of course, on the relative performances of the two teams.

RE: New Australian wildlife danger

Tenby seagulls are supposed to be the worst. Do a google search and you'll find loads of stories about them stealing food.

Big Little Lies

Surprised that a thread hasn't been started on this before.

This is one of the finest shows of recent years. The cast is stellar (Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, etc) and the writing is sublime. The soundtrack is very good as well. The plot keeps you guessing right till the end of the series.

Series 2 starts this evening, with the addition of Meryl Streep to the cast. If you haven't seen S1, it's on demand on Sky at the moment.

Jared Harris - just give the bloke an Emmy now.

Brooky, Si W was saying that this IS the forum to express your emotions. His post was an empathetic one and I'm sorry to say that you've read it incorrectly. Now get back on here and share to your heart's content.

RE: [VIDEO] Game of Thrones Season 8

I saw that. Currently 752,000 signatures. Hahaha.
