RE: Credit card fraud
Thanks guys and gals,
But,
i) I,ve had a shredder for 6 years + and can account for every monthly
credit card statement since 1986.
ii) Nobody knows my credit card ATM nos, since I don`t know it. I burnt the PIN
document to ash without opening it in 1986 when I got the credit card.
I knew even then that I wouldn`t need to borrow money on credit at 20% APR or
whatever.
iii) I`ve never done any internet shopping before, paranoia I suppose
Someone has transferred a balance over from another credit card account onto
mine, so I pay it for them.
I would imagine my account nos is all that was needed and what type of card I
have.
Credit card fraud
Just opened my monthly credit card statement.
Some swine`s done a credit cheque £5,000 balance transfer on my account.
I`ve phoned the company quicksmart, they are looking into it and will let me know
within 1 week. I surely can`t be liable can I.
Anyone else been done like this or been frauded by other means.
Any help or advice is very welcome.

RE: THe Office
Hi Rik,
I kinda agree with you but maybe my immediate thought at the end credits was
to compare it with yesterday`s Fools and horses which was very disappointing as
discussed in another thread.
Lets hope tomorrow`s xmas party/reunion of Dawn and Tim fairs better.
:D Guppy..
The Office (Contains SPOILERS)

RE: SCHOOL IS OVER!
Oh dear,
Rik my boy, you will have to learn that there is always someone out there better off than you.
I started my Xmas hols this year on 1st Dec and don`t go back to work until 5th
Jan. However, unlike you depending on handouts from your mum to keep you entertained over the ensuing festive period I get paid a very decent salary + very healthy
Xmas bonus. Also I havent taken all my hols, I`ve banked 17 days for next year- in effect
I could have been on hols from mid Nov.
So enjoy your homework and let the grown-ups enjoy the Xmas festivities.
LOL
Guppy.
ps Anyone start there hols earlier than this !

Help with Pinnacle Instant copy
Have made a back-up of dvd a few months ago to vcd for kids to use in their bedroom.
They have now destroyed this copy, so decided to make them another of same film.
However keep getting message :
Track 1 can not be read using sector mode: Mode 1 ISO.
I`ve tried to backup a few other dvds which backed up fine before, but alas all now
come up with the same message.
Any help will be greatly appreciated !!

RE: Digital Camera - shall I wait?
Go to "Electric city" in Tokyo [Akiharborer (spelling may be wrong)]. This is world famous for having the highest concentration of specialist electrical stores in the world.
You really need a week there to visit all the stores !!

RE: New Year in New York any advice
Just came back from NY last week....experienced 2 hotels
Shearaton New York and Towers- not bad
approx 5 min walk to Times sq/ 10 min to 5th Ave/ 15 min to Cen. Park.
Hilton New York- a bit better
2 min walk from Shearaton.
If you can afford it the Waldorf Astoria is great or the Pennisula.
If you want to impress a girlfriend, then its got to be "The Kitano".
When I go next year, I`m going to try the "Swissotel", my friends just come from there
and been raving about it.
To be in the thick of the action during New Year, try the Marriott, its in Times Sq.
Things I recommend while in New York :-
Empire State Building observation floor (if clear day)
Metropolitan Museum
American Natural History Museum (Forget the Rose Space Museum next to it)
South Sea port
United Nations
Circle line cruise around Manhatten (2 hr cruise is best, 3 hr too long, 1 hr no point)
Central Park
5th Ave for (window)shopping- checkout Tiffanys, Trump Tower
Bronx Zoo
Rockefellar Centre
AND the great resturants...its better not to eat in the hotel to get true flavour of NYC
We also tried the Intrepid Sea-Air Museum -- Forget it !!
That`s all I can thick of at the moment,
Guppy

RE: Best stuff to clear a REALLY blocked toilet?
If you can get it, conc sulfuric or hydrochloric acid will budge most things.
A friends mum tried every household cleaner/detergent/bleach.......to remove a stench coming from
her outside drain..none of them worked.
However 2L of conc HCl shifted the odour quicksmart.
Guppy.
ps only people trained in the use of such dangerous chemicals should consider this, and most
probably illeagal anyway !!!!
RE: <<<Does anyone like Curry???>>>
My mate`s dad used to own a curry house in Brum.
They used to have a rat problem, they couldn`t catch enough of them for the chicken madras
